Job summary

SPECTRAFORCE in North Reading, MA, seeks candidates for a II-level manufacturing role on 2nd shift (Mon–Fri, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm). The position involves hands-on electro-mechanical assembly and warehouse material handling in a fast-paced, safety‑driven team setting.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong attention to detail, ability to follow work instructions, and basic data entry into production systems.

Job description

Duration: 09 months (Possibility for temp to hire)

Shift Schedule: 40hrs/week, 2nd shift-Mon to Fri -3:00 pm to 11:30 pm

Location: North Reading, MA 01864

Pay Rate: $18-$20/hr on w2

JOB OVERVIEW

Support the production of complex electro-mechanical equipment. This role may involve hands‑on assembly of robotic components, warehouse material handling, or a combination of both, depending on business needs. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED

• Electromechanical Assembly – Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
• Assembly support or material handling tasks:
  • Moving, staging, or delivering materials and components to workstations.
  • Operating pallet jacks, carts, or other material handling equipment.
  • Assisting with kitting, labeling, and organization of production parts.
  • Supporting inventory accuracy through proper documentation and scanning.
• Performs other jobs related to assembly, repair, and rework as required.
• Must be able to follow written work instructions and perform data entry into various production systems.
• Performs quality inspections and works with an understanding of what is critical to quality. Documents actions by completing production and quality forms/entries.
• Works with safety as a priority by following procedures and applying general safe practices in manufacturing.
• Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders; and verifying receipt of supplies.
• Demonstrates proficient oral and written communication skills and collaborates well in a team environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS

PREFERRED SKILLS

• 1+ year of manufacturing experience.
• Prior experience with ERP, MES, or inventory management systems
• Ability to interpret manufacturing documentation (work instructions, part drawings, or traveler paperwork)
• Familiarity with safe material handling practices (lifting, staging, cart usage, PPE)
• Accuracy in labeling

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work all days of the shift, including some overtime.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work with computers, manufacturing software, and perform data entry.
• Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.
• Willingness to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods.
• Must be able to work effectively in a team/group setting.
• Ability to work in a mechanical setting with proficiency in using power tools and related equipment.
