Job summary

Peak Laboratories LLC is a leading manufacturer of advanced gas chromatography instruments used in semiconductor process control worldwide. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Production Technician to support the assembly, testing, calibration, and manufacturing of our analytical instruments.

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Production Technician will play a key role in ensuring products are manufactured efficiently, accurately, and to the highest quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, assembly, or technician roles.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow assembly drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience assembling scientific instruments, semiconductor equipment, analytical instruments, or other precision electromechanical products.
  • Experience with calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing documentation practices.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Basic understanding of electrical wiring, electronic components, and mechanical assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical components according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Perform instrument testing, calibration, and verification to ensure products meet quality and performance specifications.
  • Conduct final inspections and document production results accurately.
  • Troubleshoot assembly and test issues and communicate findings to the Production Manager.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support daily manufacturing activities to meet production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
  • Assist with material handling, inventory organization, and kitting of production orders.
  • Verify parts and materials prior to assembly and report shortages or discrepancies.
  • Assist with receiving inspections and incoming material verification as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production personnel to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Follow established work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Accurately complete production records, test reports, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Identify and report quality concerns, nonconforming materials, and process deviations.
  • Participate in corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance product quality, efficiency, and workplace safety.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing and 5S activities.
  • Assist in developing and refining assembly procedures and work instructions.
  • Support implementation of new manufacturing processes and equipment.
