Job summary

Air Liquide is seeking a Production Technician in Las Vegas, NV to operate the North Las Vegas Liquid Hydrogen Plant. You will monitor the DCS, perform water treatment and sampling, and manage bulk liquid H2 truck filling.

Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions that are vital to their own industrial production. We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.

The Production Technician position is responsible for day to day operation of the North Las Vegas Liquid Hydrogen Plant. This includes monitoring the process from the DCS, in the process area, water treatment and sampling and bulk liquid H2 truck filling.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the Life Critical Safety program
  • Operate the hydrogen plant in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner.
  • Support and comply with all safety, health, and environmental procedures as defined by site and corporate personnel.
  • Support and comply with all process safety management practices and operate within the established quality systems, reporting any deficiency
  • Make suggestions to improve plant safety, efficiency and quality.
  • Ability to communicate with management and logistics product delivery activities.
  • Develop equipment purging and isolation plans as required
  • Prepare equipment for maintenance activities in a safe manner
  • Enters work orders into CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) as required
  • Complete work orders assigned by the maintenance department
  • Display proper attitudes and work ethics and have the ability to follow directions
  • Provide on call assistance or work additional shifts when required.
  • Actively participate in training programs
  • Develop or revise operating procedures as appropriate
  • Train to become proficient on the DCS system
  • Fill and prepare liquid hydrogen trailers for shipment
  • Chemical analysis of water samples
  • Operate Reverse Osmosis System and water treatment plant
  • Show understanding of basic SMR/Liquification Process (Pass Field and Drawing Test)
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; 2 year Associates degree in a technical field or technical training preferred 1+ years of related industrial operations preferred Ability to use computers with knowledge of MS Office/Google software.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates good verbal and written communication skills in order to deal effectively with management and external customers.
  • Knowledge and understanding of instrumentation, rotating equipment, and piping systems.
  • Demonstrates self motivated attitude.
Physical Requirements:
  • Has full range of motion and ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Able to work 12 hour rotating shifts
  • Ability to climb and ascend vertical ladders as required
  • Ability to enter and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to wear a respirator
