Join our dynamic team at Air Liquide as a Production Technician where the production technician is responsible for maintaining plant production, operating efficiency, regulatory compliance, and safety. Due to the complexity of the skill sets needed for this position, Production Technician levels have been established to distinguish work performance capabilities and the degree of independence each task is performed.

Job Duties
  • Apply your understanding of plant safety rules, regulations, and company safety policies/procedures to protect the team.
  • Foster a shared safety culture by being safety minded; models supportive safety practices.
  • Work safely and conscientiously in all situations.
  • Identify potential maintenance needs; enter them into the work order maintenance management system (Maximo) to ensure ongoing reliability.
  • Perform all work in alignment with standard operating and maintenance procedures, utilizing current Life Safety Training skills and safety requirements including safe work permits, energy control isolation and IDLs, confined space entry work, hot work, work plans, pre-job discussions, plant safety inspections, etc.
  • Partner with contractors, visitors, and co-workers to support compliance with company safety policies/procedures. Issues safe work permit documentation and performs lock-out tag-out of equipment.
  • Ideally, you will grow your knowledge and ability in all plant operations including processes and equipment.
  • Bring an interest in instrumentation and mechanical systems.
  • Learn and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), corporate procedures; read and interpret blueprints, flow charts, process piping ISOs, simple schematics, P&IDs, electrical schematics; perform basic math operations.
  • Keep accurate records and remain diligent in documentation and record retention policies and procedures.
  • Apply your knowledge and understanding of control board and operator interface computer consoles.
  • Perform operator rounds, water samples, truck loading, and operations PM's.
  • Contribute to and promote high housekeeping and organizational standards.
  • Support additional team needs as requested by Plant Management.
  • All other duties based on business needs.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to work extended hours/shift work as business needs dictate
  • Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical Associates degree preferred
  • 2+ years of technical training or operations experience
  • Knowledge/understanding of instrumentation, rotating equipment and piping systems
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants (Process Safety Management, EPA regulations, FDA regulations, state/local regulations)
  • Knowledge in the proper methods of locking out and isolating equipment
  • Ability to use computers-knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to work in a team environment; demonstrated self motivated attitude
  • Good verbal/written communication skills in order to deal effectively with management and external customers
  • Qualified in operation of the forklift, man lift and overhead crane is preferred
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to wear required PPE safety equipment including, hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, and FRC clothing
  • Full range of motion; ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to climb ladders, work off elevated platforms/surfaces
  • Able to work in non-conditioned environment for extended periods
  • Able to enter confined spaces for inspection, testing and work
