Job description

Air Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions vital to their industrial production. We operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S., supplying oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, and syngas to major industries. Our pipeline operations and production facilities are monitored 24/7 from our operations control center in Houston, Texas, overseeing over 89,000 data points to ensure reliable supply and efficiency.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The primary responsibility of the production technician is the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the air separation unit, water plants, and auxiliary systems on a rotating shift schedule. This role also involves safety leadership, including work permitting, equipment lockout, and safety inspections.

  • Follow all Food Safety, FDA, and cGMP policies in operating practices.
  • Actively pursue personal growth and career development.
  • Promote safety awareness and practices among team members.
  • Maintain open communication regarding operational needs, safety issues, and best practices.
  • Understand plant safety rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Work safely, participate in safety meetings, and model safety behaviors.
  • Identify maintenance needs and document them in the work order system (Maximo).
  • Perform work following SOPs, safety procedures, and energy control protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies for contractors, visitors, and staff, including issuing permits and performing lockout/tagout.
  • Gain knowledge of plant operations, processes, and equipment.
  • Develop instrumentation and mechanical skills.
  • Follow SOPs, blueprints, flowcharts, P&IDs, and schematics; perform basic math and calibration tasks.
  • Maintain technical documentation and records accurately.
  • Perform operational rounds, water sampling, truck loading, and preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organization.
  • Provide coverage for peers and emergency shift relief as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least two years of related operations experience.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance, safety standards, and operational procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
  • Willingness to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use relevant software.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; sponsorship not available.
