The ideal candidate is a highly hands‑on individual with experience consistently following defined processes, operating specialized production equipment, recording data, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. This role requires strong attention to detail, a safety‑first mindset, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Role Overview

As a member of the production organization, you will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Science teams to fabricate, assemble, and validate systems. You will be responsible for executing critical processes such as assembly, brazing, sintering, leak checking, and press operations, ensuring that all work meets design intent, quality standards, and safety requirements. This role requires exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to continuously refining technical skills, particularly within the sintering process, to improve product quality and process consistency day after day. You will also help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.

Schedule
  • This position is scheduled for four 10‑hour shifts per week (4x10 schedule).
  • Overtime hours may be needed based on production demands and business needs, so schedule flexibility to support occasional overtime and schedule adjustments is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hands‑on fabrication and assembly of different systems.
  • Operate and support presses, sinter ovens, braze ovens, and associated tooling.
  • Execute brazing and joining operations per approved work instructions and quality standards.
  • Perform vacuum and sniffer leak checking of dilution subassemblies and components.
  • Accurately record process parameters, inspection results, and production data.
  • Follow and contribute to standard work instructions, process controls, and quality documentation.
  • Support Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities, including in‑process and final inspections.
  • Perform basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of production equipment as required.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Science, and Qualification teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Provide feedback to improve safety, quality, yield, and productivity.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace in accordance with 5S and safety standards.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience fabricating complex and/or delicate mechanical assemblies.
  • Hands‑on experience operating production equipment (presses, ovens, furnaces, leak checkers, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret and follow Standard Work Instructions, process specifications, and quality standards.
  • Proficient use of hand tools and calibrated measurement tools (calipers, tape measure, multimeter).
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Jira) and fundamental math skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a “do it right the first time” approach.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to process discipline.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts (5S, Kaizen, Gemba, Kanban).
  • Experience with vacuum leak checking (helium mass spec, sniffer testing).
  • Experience operating sintering, brazing, or thermal processing equipment.
  • Familiarity with tube fittings (KF, CF, VCR, compression, Aeroquip).
  • Ability to read and understand Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Experience working with pumps, pressure gauges, pressure vessels, flow meters, and pneumatics.
  • Experience with welding, soldering, and brazing.
  • Background in startup, R&D, or prototype manufacturing environments.
  • Experience producing laboratory, cryogenic, or robotics equipment is a plus.
  • Physically able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

The hourly base rate for this position is $26–$31. Final salary will be based on candidate experience.
