Department 328 – Boxing 2nd Shift
Summary

The Production Tech position performs the labeling and boxing of finished product under the supervision and direction of the Boxing Supervisor.

Essential Functions

  • 1. Performs the careful handling of packaged meat products in a fast paced environment
  • 2. Unloads product from combo unto belt
  • 3. Operates scale to verify product weight
  • 4. Makes cardboard boxes by hand
  • 4. Performs the labeling, boxing and stacking of finished product
  • 5. Must be able to stand between 2 – 3 hours at a time
  • 6. Must be willing to follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) of the company which include but are not limited to: use of a hair net, use of a company approved frock, no jewelry, no nail polish or artificial nails, no shorts, no open-toed shoes, no ripped clothing or rhinestones/glitter on clothing, no chewing gum, candy or tobacco.
Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to cold temperatures as low as 36 degrees Fahrenheit. At times the work area experiences high traffic of forklift and pallet jack operators.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds

The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Frequent use/motion of hands, wrists and arms are required

The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or bend.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. 40+ hours per week.

Hours of work: Monday through Friday, start and finish time varies depending on workload.

10 – 12 hour work days are common. Weekends and overtime hours are often required. Schedule is subject to change with or without advance notice.
