Engineering Technician 3 at MKS Instruments, Inc. collaborates with Systems and Design Engineering to test and troubleshoot RF Plasma generators, reporting to a Systems Engineering Manager.

The role focuses on supporting design, test, checkout, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems, plus hands-on testing across analog, digital, and logic circuits using scopes, signal generators, and other diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate degree or equivalent technician experience.
• Minimum of 2+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems.
• Applications may include analog, digital and/or logic systems.
• Working from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions.
• Conducting engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in research work.
• Performing operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment.
• Assisting in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
• Assisting in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment.
• Using manufacturing test, development or diagnostic equipment including but not limited to such equipment as oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus which may require software skills.

A Day in Your Life at MKS

As an Engineering Technician 3 at MKS Instruments you will partner with Systems and Design Engineering to test and troubleshoot the next generation of RF Plasma generators.

In this role, you will report to one of the Systems Engineering Managers.

You will make an impact by:

• Supporting engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry or specialized test equipment

Pay Range

$25.88 - 43.13 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Bonus

This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
