Production Team Member - Wed/Thur & e/o Fri-Sun 6am-6pm
Location – This is an onsite role that works at the Chaseburg Creamery in Chaseburg, WI. The shift/hours are 6am-6pm every Wednesday and Thursday and every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Summary of Role
The Production Team Member is responsible for the printing and packaging of butter as well as the sanitation of various production and storage areas. This includes using approved chemicals and the related delivery system to clean/sanitize production and non-production areas. This is a safety sensitive role. The Creamery is open 365 days a year including holidays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform daily assembly/disassembly, cleaning (CIP/COP), and sanitizing of production equipment.
- Assist in completing assigned daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly sanitation tasks.
- Safely use the chemical system to distribute and utilize accurate quantities of approved sanitation chemicals. This includes proper labeling/transportation of chemicals using designated containers.
- Trained on spill prevention, control and response.
- Complete all ATP test swabbing and document results for assigned areas.
- General housekeeping, cleaning, and sanitizing of various areas.
- Ensure equipment and areas are sanitary and fully operational prior to start of production.
- Follow label verification program to ensure packaging is correct prior to use.
- Operate case/carton printers, butter packer, case packer, bulk filler, microfix machine, and butter churn as assigned.
- Assist with palletizing, shrink-wrapping, and tagging pallets to prepare for shipping.
- Obtain certification, for regular use, on electric pallet jacks.
- Obtain certification on Electric Forklift and Stand up Forklift for occasional use.
- Operate cardboard compactor and make cardboard bales.
- Assist with the plant quality program including taking quality samples and use of quality testing equipment including operation of the X-ray detector and recording scale weights.
- Accurately complete paperwork and logbooks.
- Hand pack/tape cases, as needed.
- Follow and comply with appropriate federal and state regulations and CROPP Cooperative programs, policies, and best practices.
- Follow and comply with applicable good manufacturing, safety, and quality assurance policies and practices.
- Read and understand critical information and comply with related instructions, such as, but not limited to, chemical use and labels, Safety Data Sheets, Personal Protective Equipment, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Responsible for loading trucks and documentation for transportation.
- Receiving cream totes and proper hook-ups.
- Testing butterfat for the cream vats.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with general plant cleaning and/or property maintenance as needed.
- Assist at various production areas of the co-op when there is no production at the creamery.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic understanding of machine operations.
- Willingness to assist with troubleshooting issues.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Understanding of good manufacturing practices.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must be able to work weekends.
- Sanitation experience in a food processing environment preferred.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Handwriting must be neat and legible.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and duration of shift.
- Ability to read and interpret critical information and follow specific instructions.
- Ability to frequently lift/carry up to 60 pounds, occasionally lift (up to) 80 pounds with assistance, ability to push/pull up to 2,500 pounds using material handling equipment.
- Ability to occasionally bend, twist/turn, reach above shoulders, and climb throughout the shift as needed while using proper body mechanics.
- Manual dexterity to perform frequent wrist twisting and bending motions.
- Ability to safely work with hot liquids and required sanitation chemicals, including use of necessary PPE properly.
Base hourly wage range: $18.00 - $21.31 per hour
The typical hourly wage for a new hire is $18.00. This position also receives a $1.00 per hour shift premium on Saturdays and Sundays. This hourly wage range is exclusive of fringe benefits. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary bonuses. If you are hired at CROPP, your final base hourly wage compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience. Additionally, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that entry-level candidates to this role should expect to be at the lower end of the hourly wage range and hiring at the maximum of the hourly wage range is not typical.
