Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Willingness to learn multiple production processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned production tasks according to department standards.
  • Follow work orders, drawings, specifications, and production instructions.

  • Inspect work for accuracy before passing it to the next department.
  • Notify leadership immediately of quality concerns or production issues.

Position Overview

Homestead Cabinet & Furniture is seeking dependable, motivated individuals to join our Production Team. This position is designed to provide flexibility throughout the shop, allowing employees to work in multiple departments based on production needs. Team members will be trained in one or more areas of manufacturing and are expected to maintain quality, safety, and productivity standards while supporting the overall flow of production.

Success in this role requires a positive attitude, willingness to learn, attention to detail, and the ability to work well with others in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Primary Responsibilities
Production Support
  • Perform assigned production tasks according to department standards.
  • Follow work orders, drawings, specifications, and production instructions.
  • Produce quality work while meeting production goals.
  • Inspect work for accuracy before passing it to the next department.
  • Notify leadership immediately of quality concerns, missing materials, or production issues.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient work area using 5S principles.
  • Assist other departments as workload changes throughout the day.
Cross-Training

Employees may be trained and assigned to work in multiple production areas, including but not limited to:

  • Parts Preparation
  • Cutout
  • Assembly
  • Edge Banding
  • Drawer Box Assembly
  • Specialty & Miters
  • Sanding
  • Shipping
  • Receiving
  • Sample Department
  • Material Handling
  • Packaging
  • Other production areas as needed

Cross-training allows employees to develop additional skills while helping maintain production flow.

Safety & Equipment
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Operate tools and equipment safely after proper training.
  • Report equipment problems or safety hazards immediately.
  • Help maintain clean and safe workstations.

  • Communicate respectfully with coworkers and leadership.
  • Be willing to assist wherever production needs require.
  • Accept coaching and continually improve skills.

Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn multiple production processes.
  • Basic math and measuring skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move throughout the workday.
Preferred
  • Manufacturing or woodworking experience.
  • Cabinet or furniture production experience.
  • Experience operating production equipment or power tools.
  • Read a tape measure down to the 1/16th.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently bend, twist, reach, and lift materials.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Work safely around production equipment and machinery.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and machine noise.
