The Production Team Member supports multiple operations within SciMatCo, including cabinetmaking, plastics fabrication, finishing, and wood preparation. This role is responsible for operating tools and equipment, assembling components, and ensuring quality workmanship. Success in this role requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, flexibility, and teamwork across departments.
The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday, first shift, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with occasional overtime based on business needs.
Employees may have a designated home department for administrative and scheduling purposes. However, Operations Team Members are expected to support other departments where they are trained and qualified as business needs require. Work assignments are determined by management based on operational needs, staffing levels, and customer demand. Employees are expected to report to and perform work in their assigned area.
This position works in a manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, dust, loud noise, and varying temperatures. Employees are required to follow all established safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety-toe footwear.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday and regularly bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions. Employees must be able to regularly lift, carry, push, and/or move up to 50 pounds independently. Items over 50 pounds must be handled with assistance, mechanical support, or appropriate lifting equipment. Employees must also be able to safely operate tools and equipment in a production environment. Safety-toe protective footwear is required.
