Job description

This position requires entry level to a moderate level of experience to carry out various production tasks in the manufacturing environment of our busy warehouse. These tasks include all areas of the production process including preparing raw materials, assembly of materials into finished products, and final shipping of products to our customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Desirable skills include being reliable and diligent with the ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards in quality at all times. Due to the nature of the work, production workers must be able to stand for long hours at a time, perform repetitive tasks with minimal supervision and withstand hot temperatures. A flexible work schedule with the ability to work shifts, overtime and Saturday is also required.

  • Receive, move, store, and prepare raw materials for production
  • Ensure all finished products and raw materials are stored properly in our warehouse so there is no waste
  • Prepare raw materials for production and route these materials to the assembly areas.
  • Work together in a team to assemble goods on production lines into finished products.
  • Feed raw materials into production machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Prepare products for the next step in the process such as painting or shipping.
  • Monitor the production process and equipment and adjust for any defects or errors as needed
  • Carry out basic quality and testing checks to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Safely clean all work areas and equipment to ensure machines run smoothly, safely, and efficiently and workspaces remain hazard free.

SAFETY :

All team members are responsible for protecting the health and safety of both themselves and other team members by always working in a safe and approved manner.

  • Always wear all the required Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Inspect your work area regularly for safety hazards and compliance with safety standards.
  • Correct any hazards upon first sight, do not delay. If you are unable to correct the hazard yourself, seek immediate assistance.
  • Train less experienced team members to perform all tasks safely.
  • Enforce safety policies and proper procedures with ALL team members.
  • Do not take unnecessary risks and stay focused on the task at hand so that you remain safe and protected.
  • Work safely utilizing all proper bending and stretching techniques, and obtain assistance with the lifting of heavy objects.
  • Work together as a team to ensure all team members are in a hazard free environment and are always working with safety in mind.
  • Maintain situational awareness as you work and always know what potential hazards you are around (example : moving forklifts, running machines, heavy objects overhead, etc.).
  • Never horseplay or loiter on the production floor, even during break times. This inhibits your ability to be situationally aware leading to accidents and injuries.

Starting Hourly wage $14.00 + $300 Bi-weekly attendance bonus.

Numeracy - ............................. Able to perform basic mathematical calculations related to product dimensions, production quantities, product quality, and operating efficiency.

Mechanical ............................... Able to understand the functioning of machines and mechanical processes.

Interpersonal ............................ Able to work as a team with team members at all levels and from diverse backgrounds.

Flexibility / Resilience ............. Able to adapt successfully to changing, challenging circumstances.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to remain stationary; sit; use hand to finger, handle, feel; stand, move throughout the facility, and reach with hands and arms. The team members are required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The team member must frequently lift, and / or position materials up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment may be loud. Must be able to use the required Personal Protective Equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Ability to be in, move about, perform hands-on work in and throughout a department in a minimally climate-controlled manufacturing plant environment for up to 12 hours per day.

EXPERIENCE :

  • Manufacturing or construction experience preferred.
  • Machine operating experience preferred.
