Description
The Production Team Member supports the safe and efficient production of Ready-to-Eat (RTE) food products. Production Workers are cross-trained in multiple production duties and areas and may be assigned to different tasks based on production needs, employee training, and qualifications. Employees may spend more time in a particular area or task as they gain experience, while remaining flexible to assist in other production activities as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Produce safe and wholesome Ready-to-Eat (RTE) food products according to production schedules, recipes, work instructions, and company standards.
- Follow all company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and food safety requirements.
- Follow applicable requirements from regulatory agencies, including FDA, USDA, Missouri Department of Health, and OSHA.
- Perform a variety of production duties as assigned, which may include ingredient preparation, mixing, processing, filling, packaging, labeling, material handling, and sanitation-related activities.
- Learn and perform multiple production tasks through company-provided training and cross-training.
- Safely and properly operate production equipment and machinery after receiving appropriate training.
- Follow established procedures for product handling, portioning, packaging, labeling, and product identification.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the production process.
- Complete required production, quality, and food safety records accurately and timely.
- Inspect products and packaging for quality, appearance, labeling, and other specified requirements.
- Report any food safety, food quality, equipment, or personal safety concerns to a supervisor immediately.
- Work efficiently to meet daily production, quality, and food safety goals.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and assist in other production areas when needed.
- Maintain proper hygiene and follow all personal hygiene and sanitation requirements.
- Finalize, package, palletize, and prepare finished products for shipment as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and management.
- Ability and willingness to work as part of a team and support a cooperative work environment.
- Willingness to learn and perform different production tasks and work in different production areas.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and complete required documentation.
- Ability to work in wet, refrigerated, and food-processing environments.
- Ability to work around food allergens, including milk, egg, wheat, soy, fish, shellfish, and tree nuts.
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule based on production needs.
- Ability to work extended hours or longer shifts during periods of increased production, when needed.
- Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and repetitive movements.
- Previous food manufacturing experience is helpful but not required; training will be provided.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday; flexible to work on Fridays during peak season.
