Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Monitor and ensure a smooth production process for all donation functions, inventory, control, and adherence to the agency’s production procedures and core value pledge for processors and donation.
2. Fulfill the duties of all production staff (if needed), including providing excellent customer service to donors, greeting donors, safely unloading donations from vehicles, completing donor receipts, and sorting and processing donated items into designated categories; maintain production levels and quality of merchandise on the sales floor.
3. Assist in and ensure the enforcement of store safety and security procedures.
4. Assist in settling complaints.
5. Provide input for associate interviews and performance evaluations.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintain a professional appearance adhering to Goodwill uniform standards.
2. Assist with maintaining proper staffing levels as it relates to budgets.
3. Assist the Assistant Production Manager in accurately recording the work of the department.
4. Assist with monitoring the time and attendance system.
5. Assist during interviews, train, and instruct workers to develop their full potential.
6. Assist with developing efficient and effective methods and procedures for work simplification and material processing.
7. Perform other duties as directed and required.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position supervises retail staff, including donation attendants, processors, and sales associates.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of supervisory experience. Successful completion of GGW’s Aspiring Manager and Employ Excellence Programs may substitute this requirement.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to read and understand internal store operation documents.
• Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing for prolonged periods (up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift).
• Ability to lift between 40-50 pounds frequently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a warehouse environment.
• Experience in transportation production.
• Ability to coach and direct employees.
• Adaptability to periodic and rapid change.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
