Job summary

Tri-Rinse, an award-winning St. Louis-based provider of agricultural services, is hiring a Production Team Lead for chemical formulation and packaging.

You will lead a packaging line, collaborate with site leadership to execute the daily production plan, and drive safety and quality on the floor. You’ll coach team members, participate in onboarding and training, report on production metrics, and work with maintenance to resolve issues.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading a team in manufacturing.
  • Experience with chemical industry safety procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and obtain respirator certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and work alongside team on chemical packaging production line.
  • Build and execute a daily production plan with site management.
  • Communicate production plans and site initiatives to the team.
  • Coach and develop team through performance reviews.
  • Onboard and train new team members; manage operator progression.
  • Perform daily quality audits to ensure product quality.
  • Ensure safety and quality; report near misses and drive root-cause analysis.
  • Coordinate with maintenance for equipment issues and improvements.
  • Evaluate daily production, exceptions, and performance metrics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

How does this role impact our success?
  • Lead and work alongside team members on a chemical packaging production line
  • Work with the site management team to build and execute a daily production plan
  • Communicate production plans and site/company initiatives to the team
  • Contribute to team and individual performance reviews and use them to continuously coach and develop your team
  • Take ownership of your team by participating in the process of onboarding and training new team members, as well as operator progression for current team members
  • Perform daily audits to ensure product quality
  • Hold the team accountable for safety and quality standards by reporting near misses and participating in root cause analysis, corrective action and/or re-training process after any incidents
  • Take ownership of all equipment needs by completing basic troubleshooting and immediately reporting any issues to the maintenance team
  • Collaborate with other supervisors, customer service, maintenance, and site leaders as needed
  • Evaluate and report on daily production, exceptions to production plan, and performance metrics
  • Other duties as assigned, depending on the needs of the business
What makes you the right fit?
  • You have experience in a leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Ideally, you have experience in a chemical industry, working with chemical-related safety procedures and documentation, and/or with chemical filling equipment
  • You are a problem-solver and have no problem making difficult or urgent decisions
  • You are familiar with Microsoft Office tools such as OneDrive, Word, Teams, Excel, etc.
  • You have a good sense for numbers and basic mathematical formulas
  • You prioritize safety and hold yourself and your team accountable to all safety practices and procedures
  • Prior forklift certification or operating experience in a warehouse environment is a plus
You must be able to:
  • Talk, hear, speak and understand English, stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms
  • Complete an Essential Functions Test, including the ability to lift and carry up to 55 lbs.
  • Obtain a respirator certification and regularly wear a full-face respirator

Industrial warehouse environment - non-climate controlled
