Job description

General Summary

This position is responsible for leading manufacturing on the shift level following all applicable policies, processes and procedures along with performing all essential technician duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leading and overseeing the efforts of a production team, ensuring projects are carried out in adherence to its goals and timelines.
  • Setting guidelines and objectives, schedules, liaising with internal and external parties, and assessing the performance of team members.
  • Assisting in the assessment of team members to fill open positions within the company as needed and on an ongoing basis.
  • Scheduling production runs or shifts to ensure that operations run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Assisting with R&D projects.
  • Overseeing daily production operations, ensuring schedules are met and quality standards are maintained.
  • Coordinating with other departments (such as procurement and logistics) to ensure a smooth flow of materials needed for production.
  • Implementing and monitoring safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Training new production staff and providing ongoing coaching to existing employees to enhance their skills and productivity.
  • Troubleshooting production issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Analyzing production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Managing inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to optimize storage space and reduce waste.
  • Looking for and reducing non-value-added activities in the value stream using root cause analysis.
  • Performing as lead technician with full knowledge of fiber spinning technician job functions, acting as lead fiber spinning technician and providing guidance and training as needed to fiber spinning technicians.
Job Specifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years Manufacturing Experience; ISO13485 experience preferred.

  • Performs any additional duties as assigned by Supervisor or Lead.
  • Consistent ability to meet production goals for assigned processes while maintaining quality standards for the product.
  • Employee workmanship and documentation standards regularly meet all of our quality standards and GMP practices.
  • Works well with others in the value stream and offers support when help is needed in a different area.
  • Consistently adheres to attendance and punctuality guidelines.
  • Knowledge of large-scale Management Resource Planning (MRP) systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Up to 100% sitting, standing and walking in an 8‑hour workday, more if working overtime.
  • Ability to continuously wear personal protective equipment and/or clean room attire.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to operate power tools/equipment and hand tools.
  • Ability to work with or around chemicals.
  • Ability to use a microscope.

Compensation: $35.30 - $37.50 per hour.
