Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Production Support Specialist to bolster the Manufacturing and Development Team on a boots-on-the-ground basis. You will support inventory control, material handling, and cross-functional collaboration across shop floors, focusing on timely, safe operations on a military installation. Applicants must lift 50 lbs, pass a DBIDS background check, and be a U.S.

citizen or eligible for U.S. work status.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Inventory Control, Tool Crib and/or Material Handling Experience or 2+ years of Administrative Experience.
  • Experience working with a cross functional team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of continuous improvement concepts.
  • Ability to safely drive a forklift and perform acute work.

Responsibilities

  • Requisitioning, receiving, storing, and issuing inventory, tooling, consumables and other assets to technicians and operators.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas following company policies and industry best practices (5S).
  • Monitor the flow/velocity of jobs through the production line and partner with Production Control to ensure work completes on time to schedule.
  • Work cross functionally to expedite material shortages.
  • Operate various equipment in support of daily operations (forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, lift tables).
  • Assist in implementing a robust materials management process including purchasing, handling, storage, and distribution of MRO inventory.

This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As a Production Support Specialist, you will be part of a vertically integrated Manufacturing And Development Team. This is a boots-on-the-ground role. This is for the tinkers, the makers, the creators, the pioneers, the problem solvers, and those who own their role as if they are going to fly on the vehicle. We are building a road to space. Responsibilities
  • Work directly with leadership to support various team initiatives, this includes but not limited to team building events and functions.
  • Requisitioning, receiving, storing, and issuing inventory, tooling, consumables and other assets to technicians and operators.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas following company policies and industry best practices (5S).
  • Must be able to work well with others, take direction and execute swiftly, be mindful of process improvement opportunities, and be able to problem solve.
  • Monitor the flow/velocity of jobs through the production line and partner with Production Control to ensure work completes on time to schedule.
  • Work cross functionally to expedite any material shortages.
  • Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission.
  • Process Scrap and obsolete inventory from WIP locations as required.
  • Prepare for, conduct, and assist in reconciliation of cycle counts and site audits.
  • Identify, catalog, and report manufacturing delays, sources, and resolutions needed to Operations Supervisors and Managers.
  • Operate various equipment in support of daily operations.
  • This includes but not limited to forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, lift tables etc. to ensure safe hardware handling operations.
  • Assist in the implementation of a robust materials management process that reflects best practices, to include material purchasing, handling, storage, control, and distribution of MRO inventory.
  • Identify, catalog, and report manufacturing delays, sources, and resolutions needed to Operations Supervisors and Managers.
  • Aggressively enforce safe material handling practices.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, Accredited GED or equivalent vocational certifications or training 2+ year of Inventory Control, Tool Crib and/or Material Handling Experience or 2+ year of Administrative Experience.
  • Experience working with a cross functional team.
  • Demonstrated understanding and can apply continuous improvement concepts.
  • Ability to safely drive a forklift and perform acute work.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs, unassisted.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.
  • Strong computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
  • Flexible to work varied shifts, overtime, weekends, and travel on occasion.
  • Must be able to pass DBIDS background check.
  • Role will be on a military installation.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
