Arxada is looking for a Production Support II. Under general supervision from the Sanitation Manager, the Recycling & Sanitation Tech will be responsible for unloading new containers and packaging for the Food Contact Chemical Facility department as well as cleaning and sanitizing packaging containers required. Employee will be responsible for performing the assigned monthly, weekly and daily tasks given by the Sanitation Manager. This position inspects, promotes and maintain adherence to food safety cleanliness in the handling of product, ingredients and finished goods using proper work procedures and compliance with Food Safety and Quality Standards as defined by the SQF, HACCP and GMP Programs.

Essential Job Functions:

Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

• Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing non-food grade containers for production departments.

• Follow all standard operating practices, procedures and policies of the company. • Responsible for unloading and inspecting packaging goods and informing Manager of any damaged or defective items.

• Assist in physically routing incoming items to designated storage areas or departments.

• Forklift operation with current forklift license

• Responsible for maintaining cleanliness in and around the work area and keeping up with the recycling of containers.

• Responsible for labeling new totes.

• Responsible for prioritizing sanitation of containers depending on department needs.

• Complete the removal and disposal of waste and recycling in an effective manner.

• Notifies supervisor of hazardous materials/ chemical spills

• Responsible for unloading and inspecting packaging goods and informing Manager of any damaged or defective items.

• Wear the proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the particular task while performing duties.

• Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Return equipment and glassware back to their proper area for storage, cleaned and ready for re-use, after each use. Empty trash containers as necessary. Pick up loose items and place them in their proper place of storage.

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related projects and offering help as needed. • Assist with annual companywide inventory.

• Performs daily inventory checks of totes, drums and pallets.

• Assist with labeling new totes.

• Safely handle chemicals and able to read and understand Safety Data Sheets

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent
    combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to complete simple math, to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • .Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and comply with Standard Operating Procedures, equipment manuals, and operational checklist.
  • Manufacturing experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in a production environment, chemical industry preferred.
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office
