Job summary

Graphic Packaging International, headquartered in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Production Support specialist to operate case erectors and handle materials including forklift equipment. You will help to keep gluer uptime and ensure timely case erection, while following safety procedures.

You will train others, perform make-readies and preventive maintenance, and process SAP work orders. Forklift certification is required to apply for this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Proficient in English with ability to read and understand work-related instructions and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate case erectors and manage materials to support uptime.
• Train others to operate the case erector as needed.

Job Description

Position Summary: Production Support is responsible for operating case erectors and material handling equipment to include forklift and squeeze truck.

Job Function

• Support gluer uptime by ensuring erected cases are delivered in a timely manner.
• Train others to operate case erector as needed.
• Perform case erector make readies.
• Perform operational preventative maintenance tasks on case erectors.
• Execute SAP work orders on the case erectors.
• Assist with conveyer jams as needed.
• Perform quality inspections on incoming corrugate.

Job Description Continued

• Operate the down stroke bailer.
• Organize and maintain corrugated inventory for use on gluers.
• Stage corrugated for case erectors.
• Operate four balers; properly load baling wire to ensure minimum of four wires per bale.
• Perform daily baler operator inspections and cleaning.
• Safe operations of material handling equipment (forklift, squeeze truck) to move materials as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to frequently lift fifty (50) pounds.
• Able to multi-task with ease.
• Constant bending, twisting, and stooping.
• Occasional reaching to change tape on the case erector.
• Forklift certification is required.
• Candidates must be proficient in English, with the ability to communicate, read, and understand work-related instructions and safety procedures and requirements.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Manufacturing experience preferred.

Safe Quality Food Responsibilities

• Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
• Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
• Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
• Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of GPI Forklift Certification
