Job summary

Clopay Corporation, part of Griffon, is seeking aProduction Supervisor - Weekend AM at the Troy, Ohio facility to support safety, efficiency, and quality in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

You will lead a team, drive continuous improvement projects, manage schedules and timekeeping, and mentor staff. Weekend shift Fri–Sun 7:00 AM–7:00 PM with additional weekday hours as needed. Requires bachelor’s degree, manufacturing supervision experience, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing.
• 2+ years manufacturing experience plus 3–5 years in supervision/management.
• Strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams skills and ability to communicate effectively.
• Experience with continuous improvement projects.
• Able to work early, weekends, and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe work environment and ensure safety training and PPE usage.
• Lead line efficiency improvements and production scheduling to reduce costs.
• Conduct accident/incident investigations within the department.
• Maintain housekeeping and adherence to safety policies and procedures.
• Lead monthly continuous improvement projects and mentor staff.
• Manage timekeeping and department vacation calendar; conduct monthly meetings.
• Develop employees through training and coaching and foster positive employee relations.

We currently have an opening for a production supervisor - Weekend AM., in our Troy, Ohio location.

Hours are 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM - Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Will also work another shift during the week.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide a safe work environment in the assigned department. Ensure employees have received safety training and are properly using safety devices and equipment, and Personal Protective Equipment.
• Responsible for ensuring proper job rotation, good general housekeeping, and adherence to safety policies and work practices and procedures.
• Responsible for leading accident/incident investigations for all incidents within the department.
• Responsible for tracking and improving line efficiencies. Line efficiency improvements may involve process and/or line layout changes and making recommendations to reduce labor and material costs.
• Responsible for product quality and accuracy, and the timely completion of production schedules in established priority sequence.
• Maintain conformance with rules and regulations, issue verbal and written warnings when required. Recommend approved disciplinary layoffs when necessary.
• Administer company policies and maintain a pleasant employer/employee relationship on the highest possible level.
• Lead Monthly continuous improvement projects
• Responsible for training, mentoring and developing employees.
• Maintain the department vacation calendar and resolve vacation conflicts.
• Responsible for timekeeping for the employees in the department.
• Conducts a monthly departmental meeting covering the topics on the Monthly Department Meeting Agenda.
• Attend company-sponsored training classes and special classes to keep abreast of and well-informed on new developments regarding management and supervision, and other job-related courses.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience plus education.
• Minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience plus a minimum of 3 - 5 years previous experience as a supervisor or manager.
• Strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams skills
• Strong Verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with participating or leading continuous improvement projects.
• Ability to solve problems with little direction.
• Proven ability to work with a team as well as leading a team.
• Ability to come in early, stay late or work on weekends when needed
