Job summary

ORE Design, a leading manufacturer of custom high-end landscape architectural elements, seeks a Production Supervisor (Swing Shift) to oversee daily production operations and ensure efficient, safe, high-quality processes.

The role involves supervising production teams, meeting targets, resolving operational issues, and driving continuous improvement for on-time delivery and company growth. Strong leadership, Lean Six Sigma experience, and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience overseeing operations and personnel across multiple departments in a high-output production setting.
  • 3-5 years of experience implementing continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, production schedules, and reports.
  • Experience enforcing company and safety policies to ensure full compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams through coaching and performance management.
  • Experience in production management and quality assurance.
  • Excellent communication across all levels (direct reports, peers, directors, owner).
  • Experience creating, analyzing, and presenting reports using Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and motivate the production team, providing leadership and performance management.
  • Oversee daily production, troubleshoot issues, allocate resources, and track production metrics.
  • Ensure product quality through collaboration with the quality team and maintaining a safe, organized environment.
  • Drive process improvements, monitor KPIs, and ensure effective shift communication.
  • Maintain smooth shift transitions and readiness of equipment and work-in-progress.
  • Communicate with the other Production Supervisor at shift changes and across the organization.
  • Enforce safety and company policies for all employees.
  • Read and analyze blueprints and schedules to determine production requirements.
  • Serve as the primary contact for production-related concerns.

Qualifications & Skills
  • 3-5 years of experience overseeing operations and personnel across multiple departments during a full shift in a high-output production setting.
  • 3-5 years of experience implementing continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) within a custom production or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, production schedules, and reports.
  • Experience enforcing company and safety policies to ensure full compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams through effective coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Experience in production management and quality assurance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across all organizational levels, from direct reports and peer supervisors to key stakeholders (directors, CEO, owner).
  • Experience creating, analyzing, and presenting reports using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) to inform production management decisions.
  • Preferred: Experience in metal fabrication and/or a strong understanding of welding/fabrication processes.
Responsibilities & Duties
  • Supervise and motivate the production team, providing leadership, development, and performance management.
  • Oversee daily production, including troubleshooting, problem-solving, resource allocation, and tracking/reporting production metrics.
  • Ensure product quality through collaboration with the quality team, enforcement of safety protocols, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives, monitor KPIs, encourage employee involvement, and ensure effective shift communication and production reporting.
  • Maintain a smooth production transition between shifts, ensuring equipment and work-in-progress are ready for quick startup.
  • Communicate effectively with the other Production Supervisor at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate effective with all levels of the organization to ensure alignment and effective execution of production goals.
  • Enforce company safety and other policies for all employees.
  • Read and analyze blueprints, work orders, production schedules, and other records/reports to determine production requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for production-related concerns and issues.
Schedule & Pay
  • Monday - Thursday: 4:15 PM - 2:45 AM
  • Hours may vary slightly due to business needs; mandatory Fridays as needed.
  • Salary is competitive and comparable to industry standards.
