JOB SUMMARY:
The Production Supervisor works with the Operations Manager, and Production Coordinator to produce high quality decorative architectural metal products in an efficient and timely manner by planning and directing the production leads and their crews in the safe and efficient flow of work in the production facility. The Production Supervisor will be hands-on in the daily operations of the facility with most of the day on the shop floor ensuring work is moving through the shop in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide a safety conscious work environment where safety is the priority.
• Review schedule and tracker to confirm latest start date for each department.
• Review finishes and materials orders and due dates to confirm.
• Work with the Purchasing Team to inform them as soon as possible of ship dates that will / may be missed or unachievable.
• Establish and maintain a robust Pull System in the shop for all jobs.
• Lead cost reduction efforts including but noy limited to shop efficiencies and consumable goods.
• Training and development of shop Leads and Associates.
• Responsible for Issuing Corrective Actions and coaching as needed to Shop Leads and Shop Associates
• Ensure all jobs are built with first time right quality thereby reducing / eliminating rework costs.
• Confirm cores are received in time and match the drawings and ready for start date.
• Distribute job packets with due dates to each department lead.
• Answer any follow up questions prior to build during hand-off meetings with Leads.
• Monitor daily progress of jobs to determine budget and schedule deviations.
• Monitor and document issues received and checklists.
• Completing all duties assigned by Plant Manager, while making the most efficient use of time, materials, and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Qualified candidates will have a college degree or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma.
• 3-5 years of previous experience in a leadership role with an architectural custom metal shop.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in structured problem-solving/analysis.
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, organize, and implement alternate solutions to challenges.
• Detailed and accurate with a strong sense of urgency.
• Enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
• Ability to always maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Internet savvy with competence in Microsoft Office applications. Strong MS Excel proficiency.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, as well as reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to twenty pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to see and differentiate and to focus.
