Job summary

Nestlé USA is hiring a Sanitation Supervisor to lead sanitation operations in a food manufacturing plant. You will plan, supervise, and administer sanitation programs to ensure continuous production while meeting customer specs, plant cleanliness, and food safety.

The role requires 1–3 years of sanitation leadership, strong communication, and ability to manage 30–60 direct reports. This is a full-time, on-site position with opportunities for growth within Nestlé's inclusive culture.

Schedule

This position follows a 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM schedule, with the shifts occurring on weekends. Team members are required to work both Saturday and Sunday and will receive two consecutive days off during the week. Depending on production and maintenance needs, employees may work 5 to 6 days per week. The facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year, and schedules may be adjusted to support business demands, production requirements, and weekend maintenance activities.

Position Summary

The Supervisor Production is responsible for assisting in the planning, supervising, and administration of sanitation programs designed to ensure continuous production while meeting customer specifications, plant cleanliness and maintaining food safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitors daily operations to ensure continuous plant cleanliness.
  • Operates and trains personnel sanitation equipment, such as CIP (Clean in Place), COP (Clean out of Place), floor scrubbers, pressure washers, tank foamers, water hoses, air hoses, and sanitizer dispensers properly.
  • Coordinates the ordering of sanitation supplies.
  • Works with quality assurance and maintenance on environmental swabs and pre-ops swabs issues to improve sanitation standards and the purity of the product.
  • Adheres to all MCS (Master Cleaning Schedules) to ensure the sanitation of all the equipment.
  • Coordinate with other supervisors on the cleaning of support areas such as warehouse areas, docks, coolers, freezers, dough and trash compactor areas and maintenance shops.
  • Recommends changes to MCS to improve our sanitation procedures.
  • Ensures that all sanitation logs and forms are completed in a timely manner.
  • Interprets specifications and job orders and assigns duties to employees.
  • Performs ongoing evaluation to ensure that we are following sanitation procedures as written and/or recommend changes as needed.
  • Submits requisition forms for materials and/or equipment to Department Manager as needed.
  • Maintains sanitation equipment in good working condition.
  • Supervises the department function and processes.
  • Supervises department for compliance with established policies and objectives of the company and contributions in attaining objectives.
  • Oversees the work activities and professional training and development of 30-60 direct reports.
  • Works with Manager to attain goals, carry out strategies, plans, and policies to increase profitability and success of the Company.
  • Implements and enforces policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
  • Assists in developing and carrying out department’s goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Conducts interviews, appraisal performances, on boarding, and disciplinary meetings including terminations.
  • Approves payroll and amends Source Time errors for hourly employees.
  • Fills out appropriate paperwork, i.e. hiring, termination, replacement, performance evaluations, accident reports, vacation requests, and counseling forms.
  • Monitors employee’s adherence to company rules and policies and takes necessary corrective action if needed.
  • Assists in reviewing and maintaining crewing levels and optimizing to meet or surpass NPF cost targets.
  • Suggests ways to control labor and supply costs as well as improve processes.
  • Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Follows all company policies & procedures as well as the GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident‑free work place.
  • Reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety‑related issues to Management.
  • Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
Education, Skills and Experience
Education
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • 1-3 years sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year demonstrated people leadership.
  • Previous experience in a food facility.
  • Ability to establish trust and credibility with employees.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a plant production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job in the plant, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles. Employee may be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures that range from below zero (0) degrees Fahrenheit to over ninety (90) degrees Fahrenheit. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. While in the plant, the employee is required to utilize the required personal protective equipment.

Organizational Structure

The Sanitation Supervisor will report directly to the Manager Industrial Services.

Salary: $82,752.12 to $109,760.20 per year

The pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at top of range.
