Production Supervisor

Crawfordsville, IN

Spartech, LLC is seeking a Production Supervisor to join our team in Crawfordsville, IN. Our Crawfordsville facility specializes in extruding and converting flat plastic sheets into various products, including license plates, signage, file folders, and packaging, with a focus on environmentally friendly practices by reusing scrap plastic. The position is on the 7 pm to 7 am shift, with training on the day shift.

General Summary and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Supervises the activities of hourly production associates to ensure efficient production, quality, safety, and adherence to schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interview, hire, train, evaluate, and discipline staff according to company policies.
• Monitor safety compliance, investigate accidents, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain attendance records and ensure adherence to attendance policies.
• Follow all company rules and maintain accurate records and reports related to manpower, materials, maintenance, quality, schedules, and safety.
• Manage within the department budget and prepare monthly reports.
• Participate in cost reduction initiatives and conduct monthly shift meetings.
• Review efficiency reports and ensure equipment and process knowledge is current.
• Oversee preventive maintenance and coordinate repairs.
• Maintain good housekeeping, safety, and industrial hygiene practices.
• Ensure accurate timekeeping and attendance reporting.

Requirements

Skills and Experience:

• High School diploma or GED, plus 5 years in manufacturing or 4-year college degree.
• Knowledge of manufacturing methods, quality assurance, and safety programs.
• Experience in plastics manufacturing is preferred.
• At least 2 years supervisory experience or 4 years manufacturing experience.
• Strong communication, basic math, and human relations skills.

This position reports to the Plant Manager.
