Job summary

Progress Rail, A Caterpillar Company, is seeking a supervisor to lead a Fri–Sun shift in the Paint Department. You will supervise production workers, assign tasks, and ensure safety and efficiency within the work group.

The role requires 2+ years of supervisory experience and 3–5 years in railroad services or mechanical operations, with formal safety training and leadership development preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in business, engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory or management experience.
  • 3-5 years experience in railroad services and/or railroad mechanical operations preferred.
  • Formal training in safety concepts in a heavy mechanical environment.
  • Leadership development training

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of production workers on Fri–Sun day shift in the Paint Department.
  • Assign tasks and projects within work cells and follow through to completion.
  • Communicate daily/weekly production goals and manage safety within the group.
  • Contain costs within budget parameters and maximize efficiency/productivity.
  • Develop employees for success in current and future assignments.
