Job summary

Progress Rail, A Caterpillar Company, is seeking a supervisor to lead a Fri–Sun shift in the Paint Department. You will supervise production workers, assign tasks, and ensure safety and efficiency within the work group.

The role requires 2+ years of supervisory experience and 3–5 years in railroad services or mechanical operations, with formal safety training and leadership development preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred in business, engineering or related field.
Minimum 2 years supervisory or management experience.
3-5 years experience in railroad services and/or railroad mechanical operations preferred.
Formal training in safety concepts in a heavy mechanical environment.
Leadership development training

Responsibilities

Direct supervision of production workers on Fri–Sun day shift in the Paint Department.
Assign tasks and projects within work cells and follow through to completion.
Communicate daily/weekly production goals and manage safety within the group.
Contain costs within budget parameters and maximize efficiency/productivity.
Develop employees for success in current and future assignments.
