Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead day-to-day manufacturing of optical fiber products in East Granby, CT, ensuring safety, quality, on-time delivery and cost objectives.

You will supervise hourly workers and collaborate with Engineering, Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and EHS. The role focuses on continuous improvement, productive teamwork, and developing staff, with emphasis on Lean and CAPA practices.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of manufacturing leadership experience.
• Experience supervising hourly production staff.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
• Ability to work flexible schedules as business needs require.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily manufacturing activities to meet production schedules and customer commitments.
• Monitor production performance and address issues impacting safety, quality, delivery, or productivity.
• Optimize staffing and labor utilization to maximize operational efficiency.
• Ensure equipment is operating effectively and coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering to minimize downtime.
• Support production scale-up activities and implementation of new manufacturing technologies.
• Develop and mentor production employees; conduct evaluations and provide feedback.
