Job summary

Oldcastle APG, Inc. in Florida seeks a production shift supervisor to oversee daily operations, ensure safety, and meet quality and production targets.

You will lead a team, set goals, train staff, inspect equipment, and collaborate with maintenance and quality. This role emphasizes hands-on leadership and adherence to CRH safety standards. Strong communication and problem-solving are required; experience with forklifts and production machinery is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have prior team lead experience in manufacturing.
• Experience training team members including forklift operation and machinery troubleshooting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Walk/stand on catwalks and stairs for extended periods.
• Block or paver machine experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set production goals and expectations.
• Visually inspect and test machinery; set up and operate equipment.
• Operate forklift as directed, following safety policies.
• Inspect work in progress and finished product.
• Oversee the daily preventive maintenance program.
• Track and report inventory and parts usage.
• Analyze scorecards and day shift production reports.
• Train, promote, and discipline employees.
• Ensure all safety rules are followed and employees adhere to safety programs.
• Supervise department to meet quality and production standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Set production goals and expectations
• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment. Set up and operate machinery
• Operate forklift as directed and without supervision while adhering to all rules and regulations mandated by safety policies and procedures

• Oversee the daily preventive maintenance program
• Track/report inventory and parts usage

• Ensure all safety rules are followed and employee follow safety program
• Supervise employees in department to ensure they meet quality and production standards
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

Job Requirements

• Previous team lead experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience providing on the job training to team members to include but not limited to the operation of forklift, bobcat, loader, and development of production machine troubleshooting skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and endure intermittent climbing, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling
• Walking up and down elevated catwalks and stairs and standing for long periods of time
• Block or paver machine experience preferred
