Job summary

Ford Motor Company is hiring a salaried supervisor in a manufacturing setting. The role leads safety, quality and productivity efforts and coordinates material flow across the facility.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 3–7+ years in supervisory or related environments and demands rotating shifts, including nights and weekends. A Lean/Six Sigma mindset is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 3–7+ years in supervisory, manufacturing, military, or related field.
  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodology and/or MDMP is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coach Safety, Quality and Productivity to meet objectives via standardized work.
  • Monitor andon occurrences; respond as secondary support.
  • Verify line safety, smooth operation and quality output.
  • Support Continuous Improvement and coach problem resolution to the lowest level.
  • Communicate and recognize team performance.
  • Develop Team Leader and Team Member capability.
  • Create a productive work environment for assigned tasks.
  • Manage daily supervisory administration and documents.
  • Oversee material handling from receiving to production line feed and delivery.
  • Allocate resources to cover material handling responsibilities.
  • Support Ford Production System and lean material flow.
  • Lead and manage unionized hourly staff.
  • Ensure smooth introduction of new parts to production with planning and cross-functional communication.
  • Implement the Engineering Change Process effectively.
  • Identify and address data gaps in CMMS.

Position Duties
  • Coach Safety, Quality and Productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work
  • Monitor andon occurrences. Be the first responder as secondary support
  • Through Process Confirmation, verify that the line is running safely, smoothly, and producing quality parts
  • Support Continuous Improvement and coach problem resolution to the lowest level
  • Communication and recognition
  • Build Team Leader and Team Member capability
  • Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks
  • Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents
  • Responsible for the daily material handling functions for the facility and for the department
  • Ensure proper material flow from receiving dock, to warehouse storage location, to the production line feed location, to the delivery of finished product to customers
  • Provide direction and support in the allocation of resources in order to appropriately cover material handling responsibilities
  • Support Ford Production System and synchronous material flow through lean manufacturing practices
  • Lead and manage unionized hourly personnel
  • Ensure flawless introduction of new parts to production through proactive planning and cross-functional communication
  • Effectively implement the Engineering Change Process
  • Identify data gaps in CMMS (missed production counts, etc.) and take corrective actions.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 3–7+ years of supervisory, manufacturing, military, or other relevant experience.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts/hours, including nights and weekends.

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $84,480-$141,360.
