Job description

Production Supervisor in Woburn, MA.

Fusion Optix is a rapidly growing company and is a leader in advanced LED lighting technologies. We are looking for experienced, professional production supervisor to join our LED Assembly team and be a leader amongst the group in a fast-paced, volume-production environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for oversight and supporting of assembly persons tasked with assembly and testing of LED lighting products. The role also requires strong skills in Microsoft Office software and general IT since it requires the maintaining of proper production logs. Working knowledge of how to look up assembly drawings in Solidworks or similar CAD package would also be a plus.

About the Role:

• Direct supervision of a team of assembly technicians.
• Wire and assemble custom LED light fixtures using LED modules, wire harnesses, power suppliers, optics, and other various components.
• Quality control and final test of assembled fixtures.
• Labeling, packaging & palletizing of fixtures for shipment.
• Contribute to process and equipment improvement programs by supporting management and production engineering.
• Work with production supervisor, junior assembly technicians and quality functions to ensure all work orders, specifications, and drawings are accurate before beginning production.
• Support quality control procedures during production by utilizing test and measurement equipment (training provided).
• Work with other technicians and managers to reduce waste and apply Lean manufacturing techniques.
• Help out generally as part of the team, especially when production deadlines are tight.

About You:

The successful candidates will have these qualities:

• Prior production supervisory experience ideally in a similar industry.
• Prior experience assembling electronic and mechanical modules in a manufacturing setting a plus.
• Mechanically minded, practical, able to operate hand tools.
• Able to read assembly drawings and execute tasks from written instructions with little supervision.
• Capable of standing for long periods of time.
• Can lift items up to 50lbs.
• Good attention to detail and good numeracy ability.
• High regard for safety policies and procedures.
• Team player with good interpersonal skills.
