Job summary

PPG is seeking a Production Supervisor to coordinate the production department, train staff, plan and direct work, and resolve issues at the Portland, TN plant. You will report to the Production Manager and ensure safety, quality, and productivity goals are met with 12-15 direct reports.

Responsibilities include training and evaluating staff, maintaining production trackers, and ensuring OSHA and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred, but not required and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, and volumes; apply basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions from written, oral, or diagram form.

Responsibilities

• Manage production lines to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.
• Trains, disciplines and evaluates 12-15 direct reports; schedule pickup and delivery of parts with customers.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance and other functions to ensure information flow and safety compliance.
• Prepare and maintain production reports for the Production Manager.
