Position Overview:
The Production Supervisor collaborates with a team to ensure exceptional service and stakeholder satisfaction. They are responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of equipment used for tasks related to the distillation system and processing, safeguarding their well-being and that of all internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Foster a safety culture by modeling safe work practices and promoting open reporting and shared safety responsibility.
- Follow all safety policies, standards, and procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment, supporting environmental commitments by minimizing ecological impact.
- Ensure adherence to and accountability for safety and regulatory compliance with all local, provincial, and federal laws and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with government labor, health, and safety laws, regulations, and policies.
- Follow Inland's procedural handbooks, operational plans, and management directives to ensure work is performed according to specifications and regulations.
- Assign duties and monitor the performance of Processing Operators to ensure compliance with SOPs.
- Ensure all operators' paperwork is completed and filed accurately and promptly.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely reporting, record keeping, and communication as per company policies.
- Work cooperatively with staff involved in the completion of duties.
- Operate, maintain, and instruct operators on processing equipment.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all processing equipment.
- Schedule and perform light maintenance tasks and report major repairs immediately.
- Ensure availability of spare parts to prevent processing downtime.
- Transfer fluids from the collection pond into storage vessels, recording volume and concentration for each load, and regularly empty solids from the collection pit.
- Monitor distillation operational parameters, recognize deviations, and make proactive adjustments or corrective actions.
- Engage with technical experts or engineering for guidance to optimize system performance.
- Oversee daily tracking and recording of transferred and processed fluids.
- Assist with glycol recycling processes and production of proprietary fluids as needed.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by management.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4+ years of fluid processing experience
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a similar industry
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with good judgment
- Mechanically inclined with basic understanding of processing/mechanical systems (motors, pumps, heat exchangers, measurement instrumentation, etc.)
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Effective communication skills in speaking, reading, and writing
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment:
- Combination of operational and office duties, with field work and office tasks.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, weather conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and vibration.
- Occasional work outside regular hours to meet operational needs.
Physical Demands:
- Must be physically capable of performing operational requirements.
- Extended periods of standing or sitting, bending, kneeling, lifting, climbing, and reaching.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 75 pounds occasionally.
- Wearing personal protective equipment as required, with full mobility.
- Clear speech and effective hearing.
- Ability to climb 15-foot heights.
- Visual acuity including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
- Ability to understand and carry out written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
- Ability to handle problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to move, connect/disconnect hoses, operate valves, and perform general labor duties.
