Position Overview:

The Production Supervisor collaborates with a team to ensure exceptional service and stakeholder satisfaction. They are responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of equipment used for tasks related to the distillation system and processing, safeguarding their well-being and that of all internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively foster a safety culture by modeling safe work practices and promoting open reporting and shared safety responsibility.
  • Follow all safety policies, standards, and procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all staff, customers, and visitors. Support Inland's environmental commitments by minimizing organizational impact on the ecosystem.
  • Promote adherence to and enforce site safety and regulatory compliance with all local, provincial, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all Government Labor, Health, and Safety laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Follow Inland's procedural handbooks, operational plans, and management directives to ensure work is performed according to specifications and regulations.
  • Assign duties and monitor the performance of Processing Operators to ensure work completion according to SOPs.
  • Ensure all operators' paperwork is completed and filed accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely reporting, record keeping, and communication as per company policies.
  • Work collaboratively with all staff involved in the completion of duties.
  • Operate, maintain, and instruct operators on all processing equipment professionally.
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for all processing equipment.
  • Schedule, perform, and instruct operators on light maintenance tasks and report major repairs immediately.
  • Ensure availability of spare parts to prevent processing downtime due to mechanical failures.
  • Transfer fluid from the collection pond into storage vessels before overfill risk, recording volume and concentration for each load. Regularly empty solids from the collection pit.
  • Monitor distillation operational parameters to ensure target performance levels, making adjustments proactively when trends deviate.
  • Engage with technical experts or engineering as needed for system optimization.
  • Oversee daily tracking and recording of fluids transferred and processed.
  • Assist with glycol recycling processes, including concentrator and sanitary machine operations.
  • Assist in producing Inland proprietary fluids as required.
  • Represent the company courteously and professionally.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by management.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 4 years of fluid processing experience.
  • Previous supervisory and/or management experience in a similar industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with good judgment.
  • Mechanical inclination with basic understanding of processing/mechanical systems (motors, pumps, heat exchangers, measurement instrumentation, etc.).
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Effective communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment:

  • The Senior Distillation System Supervisor will have a mix of operational and office duties. While much of the job involves fieldwork to meet operational goals, time will also be spent on office tasks. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, weather conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and vibration is possible.
  • The noise level can be excessive at times.
  • Occasional outside-of-normal hours work may be required to meet customer and operational needs.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be physically fit to perform operational requirements.
  • Extended periods of standing or sitting, as well as bending, kneeling, lifting, climbing, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 75 pounds occasionally.
  • Wearing personal protective equipment as required and maintaining full mobility in a high-risk environment.
  • Clear speech and hearing ability.
  • Ability to climb 15-foot heights.
  • Visual requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Ability to understand and carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions.
  • Ability to handle problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
  • May need to move, connect/disconnect hoses, operate valves, and perform general labor duties.
