Job summary

Shawmut Corporation in Massachusetts seeks an experienced Supervisor to direct machine operators and inspectors, aligning production with schedules and quality requirements. You will lead shift activities, ensure SOP compliance, and coordinate with maintenance and QA teams to maintain efficiency and safety.

The role requires hands-on manufacturing background, 2–3 years supervisory experience, strong leadership, and bilingual communication in English and Portuguese.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership; work well under pressure and with diverse personalities.
• Hands-on manufacturing background with progression into supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication; capable of preparing docs, data entry, training.
• Fluency in English and Portuguese.
• Good math skills at high school level.
• Ability to evaluate production runnability and make sound decisions.
• Strong time management skills; meet production targets.
• Inventory management experience; cycle counts; control.
• ISO environment experience; ISO certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review production schedule with plant personnel and assign orders to machine operators.
• Discuss quality requirements with Quality and Process Engineering.
• Check machines for correct production order and proper set-ups.
• Ensure SOPs are followed at shift start and during operation.
• Ensure samples are cut for lab tests and document results.
• Monitor material availability for pending orders and adjust schedules.
• Supervise and assist in all Production processes as needed.
• Maintain daily log of machine changes, rush orders, and issues.
• Coordinate machine maintenance with Maintenance Department.
• Conduct annual performance reviews and recommend wage adjustments.
• Participate in hiring and safety committee activities.
