Description
Position Summary

The Production Supervisor role provides supervision on the manufacturing floor, implementing best practices for operating equipment and ensuring they are followed by all production team members, while directing safe work practices. This role reports to the Production Manager or Senior Production Manager, based on the location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain the right people in the right seats within the department team to achieve ownership and accountability, providing day-to-day coaching and guidance to department team members to develop them to their fullest potential.
  • Supervise production team members in designated area of responsibility.
  • Implement best practices for operating equipment, coordinate training for staff in accordance with those practices and ensure best practices are followed by all team members.
  • Work with the plant management to plan, schedule, & coordinate production to fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements, & deliver quality products in a timely manner.
  • Assist with scheduling maintenance of all tooling and machines with the maintenance department.
  • Supervise projects involving modifications to existing tooling for production.
  • Assist/supervise changeovers & machine operation.
  • Support continuous improvement (CI) initiatives in the manufacturing process(s).
  • Maintain a complete knowledge of production scheduling & operations, along with a comprehensive understanding of all production equipment in designated area.
  • Strive for efficient production output to meet production goals while maintaining company standards for quality & safety.
  • Work with the quality control department to ensure all standards applicable to assigned area of production are met or exceeded.
  • Compete electric work as per job requirements and training under NFPA 70E electrical and arch flash requirements.
  • Assist in the development & maintenance of BOM’s per process standards & modifications.
  • Cascade objectives and operational performance to plant team members.
  • Drive Safety (EHS) and be a safety role mode, including Investigating all accidents, determining the root cause, & taking necessary measures to ensure the accident cannot happen again; improving processes & safety training for all team members; striving for zero accidents; participating in safety audits, & meetings; and ensuring regulatory compliance (labor, environmental, transportation, OSHA, etc.).
  • Ensure effective team member relations, monitoring team member performance, providing coaching, and administering discipline with tact and respect while being clear about expectations in accordance with Prinsco’s values.
  • Assist management with quarterly conversations and annual performance appraisals.
  • Focus on cross-training, continuous learning and improvement.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required with a minimum of two years of production experience required.
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization.
  • In-depth experience with quality processes, inventory management, & continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experienced in or the ability to learn electrical knowledge for this job required under NFPA 70E electrical standard.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to analyze data/facts/drawings to support valid conclusions and to solve practical problems or deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Proficient with MS Office products and MS D365.
  • Honest and fiscally responsible.
  • Visibility on the production floor is a minimum of 80% of the workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and use hands or reaching with hands/arms occasionally.
  • Standing, walking, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling for over 2/3 of the workday.
  • Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate colors.
  • Ability to work in a production environment that is not temperature controlled and occasionally in varying outdoor weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in a loud noise environment.
