Job summary

Dynamic Manufacturing is seeking a Production Supervisor HS1 for the 1st shift in Hillside, IL. The role leads designated production areas, ensures safety, quality, cost and delivery goals, and motivates team leaders to achieve objectives.

The position offers advancement opportunities, tuition reimbursement, weekly pay, and generous PTO. The supervisor will coach teams, enforce policies, manage staffing, and drive continuous improvement initiatives while coordinating with maintenance,

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted.

  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to become trained in all the stations in the area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Coach safety, quality, productivity and on-time to production schedule to ensure customer objectives are met.
  • Facilitate team communication and conflict resolution including team learning of process or interpersonal skills.
  • Seeks resolution of team member concerns to create an environment that expresses care, concern and consistency towards all team members.
  • Communicates and enforces policies and procedures to meet and exceed our goals
  • Monitors performance of hourly associates and provides counseling, coaching, or discipline where appropriate while utilizing HR software solution.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with safety, housekeeping, material identification, job instructions, non-conforming material and delivery.
  • Work closely with the Quality team to identify corrective actions for defects
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to identify and document any project challenges and opportunities, including but not limited to production bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Continually evaluate processes and methods, recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment, performance, utilization of people, and quality of product.
  • Manage the work areas’ 5S and other Lean initiatives. Participate in continuous improvement events.
  • Maintain a cross-training matrix and identify and provide training for employees as needed to ensure adequate skills coverage.
  • Monitor staffing levels to meet the daily work requirements
  • Provide key input for performance appraisals and compensation evaluations
  • Conduct Behavior Based Safety observations to identify unsafe practices and areas of risk.
  • Responsible for applying all necessary measures to avoid incidents in the workplace
  • Ensure that the line is running safely, smoothly, and producing quality product
  • Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to meet our customers’ expectations
  • Monitor workflow and production to ensure production rate and on time delivery requirements are met
  • Coordinates with the maintenance, engineering, and metrology departments to maintain equipment and utilities in proper working condition whilst assuring equipment is utilized in a safe and efficient manner
  • Initiates needed maintenance work orders and monitors maintenance activities.
  • Act as a technical resource to address and resolve inquiries and problems; analyze and resolve work problems and assist workers in solving work problems.
  • Assists with Part Process Approval (PPAP) activities
  • Ability to communicate work instructions and feedback in a simple and respectful manner
  • Analyzes problems and follow through with solutions
  • Sets priorities in front of multiple requests
  • Accepts direction and assumes responsibility
  • Has positive outlook and is willing to assume new assignments and additional duties

Under the direction of the Product Line Manager, the Production Supervisor will plan, organize and lead the manufacturing function of a designated production area to ensure compliance with safety, quality, cost, delivery and teamwork objectives.
