Production Supervisor/"Floor Lady"/Sewing Machine Operator/Seamstress for Knit Blankets

Be among the first 25 applicants. We're seeking an experienced sewing machine operator to manage and supervise the workflow in our finishing department, as well as to sew. Our company manufactures blankets in a small, pleasant, and safe work environment located in Ocean Township, New Jersey.

As a Production Supervisor/Floor Lady, you will oversee the finishing and sewing operations, ensuring high-quality production standards. Reporting to the Production Manager or Owner, your sewing skills and machine operation expertise will be vital for our blanket production.

Requirements:

• Experience with commercial/industrial sewing machines, specifically:
• Serger/Merrow machine
• Single needle chain stitch machine
• Knowledge of crocheting, hand knitting, darning, and mending knitted materials
• A pleasant demeanor with the ability to direct and supervise up to six workers
• Excellent work ethic
• Additional textile handling tasks such as material inspection, blanket folding, and thread pulling

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain sewing machines to produce high-quality knit blankets
• Oversee the sewing process
• Train and supervise sewing staff, ensuring proper techniques and safety practices
• Monitor production schedules to meet deadlines
• Perform quality checks on finished products
• Manage inventory and materials efficiently in collaboration with staff

Pay:

• $24 to $27 per hour, based on experience
