Job description

Basic Purpose

Reporting to the President, the Production Floor Supervisor manufactures and fabricates parts and sub‑assemblies as needed, supervising staff; organizing and monitoring workflow, and setting up machines for production runs. The Supervisor ensures the plant floor remains in good order and tidiness by all personnel.

Position Responsibilities

• Communicate job expectations and coach, counsel, and discipline employees.
• Recruit, select, orient, and train staff; develop on‑the‑job and performance improvement training.
• Read and interpret material and parts availability reports; understand blueprints.
• Improve workflow by monitoring processes, setting variables, observing control points, and implementing cost reductions.
• Plan production schedules, assign personnel, prioritize tasks, monitor progress, revise schedules, and resolve problems.
• Maintain quality service by enforcing organization standards.
• Ensure equipment operation through correct setup, repairs, and evaluation of new techniques to increase efficiency.
• Compile, analyze, and provide production performance data; respond to requests.
• Recommend system and procedural revisions by analyzing practices and implementing changes.
• Educate personnel on safety and clean workplace; maintain policy compliance.
• Analyze personnel problems, investigate issues, and recommend solutions.
• Keep technical knowledge current through workshops, publications, and industry research.
• Contribute to team effort as needed.
• Participate in required training.
• Interact with vendors or third‑party manufacturers to ensure timely service and parts delivery.
• Support the President as required.
• Act as a positive example in behavior, integrity, commitment, and policy compliance.

Education

High School Diploma or GED.

Experience

Ten years of related experience, including five years in supervisory roles.

Knowledge & Skills

• Supervision, coaching, training, process management, and process improvement.
• Production planning and prioritization.
• Machine setup and operation (Hydraulic Press Brake, Power Shears, Sheet Roller, Punch Press, Milling Machines, Lathes, English Wheel, Rubber Pad Press).
• Ability to handle complex manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of aerospace aluminum sheet and extrusion materials.
• Blueprint interpretation.
• Measurement and calculation proficiency.

Physical Requirements
