Job summary

Redwood Materials is seeking a Production Supervisor, Energy, to lead a team in producing in-spec products safely and efficiently on the Reno, NV site.

You will coordinate with leadership to execute the department strategy, drive manufacturing improvements, and mentor frontline staff. Strong communication and problem-solving are essential to meet timelines and maintain quality.

Qualifications

  • Requires 5+ years in a manufacturing/production & warehouse environment.
  • Previous leadership role required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; AAS degree or higher preferred.
  • Electronics assembly and ESD experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships on the manufacturing floor and engage with front-line leads, technicians, and associates.
  • Provide training and mentoring on safety, policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with site leadership to develop and execute the department’s manufacturing strategy and shift planning.
  • Lead a diverse team to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-optimized production.
  • Set clear expectations, provide feedback, and hold team members accountable for meeting goals.
  • Identify risks to performance and escalate to stakeholders when needed to minimize impact.
  • Communicate improvement ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Monitor production KPIs and adjust as needed to meet targets.
  • Prioritize and delegate to manage a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Listen to team feedback and support a positive work atmosphere.

Founded in 2017, we’re delivering low-cost and large-scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all from batteries we already have.

Production Supervisor, Energy

In this leadership role, the Production Supervisor will guide a team of Production associates in the continuous effort to produce in-spec products, safely and efficiently. The Production Supervisor will demonstrate consistent and best work practices to set the foundation for how manufacturing, safe work, and basic functional skills should be practiced throughout the facility. They will coordinate with respective stakeholders to continuously improve the day-to-day operation of the facility while hitting manufacturing timelines and rates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Build effective relationships with employees through a strong presence on the manufacturing floor and ongoing engagement with front-line leads, technicians, and associates.
  • Provide training and mentoring to new hires in safety, company policies, procedures, work instructions, and manufacturing topics.
  • Collaborate with site leadership to develop and execute the department’s manufacturing strategy, including operations shift planning and delegation.
  • Lead a diverse team to foster an inclusive work environment that delivers safe, reliable, and cost-optimized production.
  • Set clear expectations, provide feedback, and hold team members accountable for meetinggoals.
  • Identifypotential risks to performance and lead the teamin resolvingissues. Escalate to relevant stakeholders when necessary to minimize impact.
  • Communicate complex improvement ideas and information effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • MonitorproductionKPIs and make necessary production adjustments to ensure targets are met.
  • Prioritize and delegate responsibilities to effectively manage a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Listen to team members’ feedback, resolve issues or conflicts, and support a positive work atmosphere.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • 5+ years in a manufacturing/production & warehouse environment
  • Previousexperience in a leadership rolerequired
  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institutionrequired
  • AAS Degree or higher preferred
  • Electronics assembly and ESD experience a plus
  • Background in general assemblywith high attention to detail
  • Possess an interest in people developmentand experienced in conflict deescalation and resolution amongst team members
  • Excellent critical thinking and time managementfor self and team
  • Able to effectively communicate across the company hierarchy
  • Ability to adapt to a changingfast-pacedenvironment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient hazard recognition skills and ability to teach and direct reports on hazard recognition
  • Self-motivated; able to take problems and drive them to completion using company resources

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
