Job summary

Sora Resource Group is hiring a hands-on Production Supervisor for the Bluffton, OH area on a day shift. You will lead a team of up to 15 on a Monday–Friday schedule with limited weekend work, reporting to the General Manager and collaborating directly with owners and senior leadership.

Responsibilities include daily production scheduling, coaching staff, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery, and coordinating with sales on quotes.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED with at least two years of production supervision experience.
• Experience supervising others in manufacturing or distribution environments.
• Experience overseeing at least 10 people at a time.
• Mechanical aptitude is required.
• Willing to drive a forklift on an as needed basis.
• Microsoft Office experience, including basic Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule daily production and monitor shop floor projects.
• Train, coach, mentor, and evaluate the hourly workforce.
• Ensure shift safety, quality, and delivery goals are met.
• Maintain current inventory and ensure on-site availability for projects.
• Work with Sales on quoting new business.
• Review shift paperwork and production numbers.
• Communicate with customers on project status.
• Enter information into the ERP system.
• Collaborate with Quality on final inspections and approvals.
• Foster continuous improvement and scrap reduction (5S, cost savings).
• Drive a forklift to support floor activity as needed.
• Confirm timesheets, vacations, and time off in the timekeeping system.
• Perform other duties as directed by management.

A profitable company with a diverse customer base is hiring a Day Shift Production Supervisor to lead a specific area of their operations! This is a day shift position that works Monday-Friday, overseeing up to 15 people, and will report to the General Manager. Daily you will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Scheduling daily production and monitoring projects on the shop floor
• Training, coaching, mentoring, and evaluating the hourly workforce
• Ensuring shift safety, quality, and delivery goals are met
• Maintaining current inventory, ensuring inventory is on-site for scheduled projects, and monitoring work in process
• Working with sales on quoting new business
• Reviewing and confirming shift paperwork and production numbers
• Communicating with customers on the status of projects
• Entering information into the company ERP system
• Working closely with quality to complete final inspection of projects
• Fostering an environment focused on continuous improvement and scrap reduction, including 5S, scrap reductions, cost savings, etc.
• Driving a forklift as needed to support floor activity
• Confirming timesheets, vacations, and time off within the timekeeping system
• Other duties as directed by management

This is a hands-on position that requires qualified candidates to be on the production floor up to 80% of their day. Candidates should enjoy leading others and holding people accountable, have attention to detail, work well within a team environment and have excellent communication skills. Strengths should include being able to build rapport with your staff and improving staff morale. You will communicate regularly with customers on the status of projects. REQUIREMENTS for the Production Supervisor:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED with at least two years of production supervision experience
• Experience overseeing others in a manufacturing and/or distribution environments
• Experience overseeing at least 10 people at a time
• Mechanical aptitude
• Willing to drive a forklift on an as needed basis
• Microsoft Office experience, including BASIC Excel skills

Skills preferred but NOT required:

• Production scheduling experience
• ERP experience
• Low volume, high mix experience
• Non-union supervision
