Job summary

QuantumScape is hiring a Production Supervisor, Cell Build for our CA manufacturing team. You will recruit, lead, and develop a cell-build crew including operators and technicians to drive production and development of battery cells.

Shift 5 runs Sunday–Tuesday and every other Wednesday from 6:30am to 6:30pm. Compensation includes a strong salary, annual bonus, RSU/Equity, comprehensive benefits, and health coverage.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in a technical field and/or 7 years of production related experience.
• Experience with manufacturing equipment, line management tools, TPM, and SPC.
• Lithium-ion battery production experience preferred.
• Development program experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Description: QuantumScape developed the industry’s first anode-less cell design, which delivers high energy density while lowering material costs and simplifying manufacturing. Our innovative battery cell technology can store energy more efficiently and reliably than today’s lithium-ion batteries.

Quantumscape is seeking a motivated Production Supervisor, Cell Build for our Manufacturing team. You will be playing a vital role in training, developing and building a team that will orchestrate the production and development of battery cells. As the Production Supervisor, you will recruit, lead, and manage a team which includes build operators, and technicians.

Shift 5 Schedule: Sunday-Tuesday and Every Other Wednesday from 630am-630pm.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure safety and conduct policies are prioritized and met among employees.
• Build and continuously develop a strong, motivated production team.
• Resolves production problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
• Prioritize and manage production activities according to organization needs and plans.
• Supervise and report on production KPI’s as needed to production management and to operator and technician staff
• Lead all aspects of employee certification and adherence to safety and procedure standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Quality and Engineering to align activities and ensure organized execution of activities.
• Facilitate the development and deployment of standard works whenever a gap is identified.
• Recommend and implement changes to product or process in order to improve efficiency, cost, delivery and quality.

Minimum Requirements:

• BS or MS in a technical field and/or 7 years of outstanding production related experience
• Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and line management tools, including routine equipment maintenance, statistical process control, lean manufacturing, MES/SCADA systems, and TPM.
• Proven history working within a production team. Industry experience in lithium-ion batteries preferred.
• Experience working in development programs preferred

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Can demonstrate ability to achieve excel and perform under high pressure.
• Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills.
• Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent computer and systems knowledge: Strong literacy in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Balance multiple projects on a fast-paced schedule, while taking care of some vagueness in a high output environment.
• Strong collaboration with a focus on promoting teamwork while growing your internal trust network through integrity and passion for the challenges we face.

Essential Duties:

• Be physically onsite at QuantumScape to monitor and oversee shift production associates
• Be onsite to troubleshoot and support production operations
• Train, mentor, guide production employees with onsite support

Compensation:

Salary Range $96,800- $118,534 and will have some flexibility based on candidate's experience level. QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan. In addition, we do offer a tremendous benefits plan including employer sponsored health insurance, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and other exciting perks.
