Job Title: Production Supervisor (3rd shift)

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

Supervise and manage all functions involved in the production of 3M products safely and economically. Responsible for direct supervision, training, safety performance, product quality, cost control, employee communications, morale, and productivity.

As a Production Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with innovative and diverse people within 3M. Your impact will include:

  • Promoting a safe and sustainable working environment by modeling safe behaviors and addressing safety concerns.
  • Establishing priorities and allocating work to meet daily production requirements.
  • Utilizing Lean manufacturing processes to meet customer demand and quality expectations.
  • Leading, coaching, and developing employees through direct supervision, monitoring, and coaching shop floor operators, recognizing achievements, managing training, and participating in hiring processes, including contingent workers.
  • Upholding integrity by complying with 3M policies and guidelines.
  • Monitoring shift production rates and quality, communicating results, and leveraging continuous improvement tools to increase efficiencies and reduce costs.
  • Representing plant leadership as needed, including supervision coverage on alternate shifts and being on-call.

This role requires working evening and night shifts, including weekends, holidays, and rotating schedules. Further details will be provided.

Your Skills and Expertise

Minimum qualifications include:

  • High School Diploma or higher (verified prior to start)
  • Three (3) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government, or military environment
  • One (1) year of leadership, supervisory, or management experience in similar environments

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (verified prior to start)
  • Five (5) years of manufacturing and leadership experience
  • Familiarity with Lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Layered Audits, and Standard Work
  • Experience leading improvement projects and lean six sigma initiatives
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritize daily tasks
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Workday HR software
Work Location & Travel
