Job Description

JW Hicks, Inc., is a rapidly growing, northern Indiana based manufacturing company looking for a 3rd Shift Production Supervisor in our Knox, Indiana, location. We are looking for someone with the goal of "Doing it Right" to grow with us.This position is 3rd Shift, 10:00 PM - 6 AM, Sunday through Thursday and will be responsible for ensuring all production needs are met, shop and equipment is maintained, and leadership of a small production team. 3rd Shift Manager - Production Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain and enforce safety policies, and ensure employees are properly informed regarding policies and hazards.
• Schedule work activities and times including coordination with Maintenance Supervisor to schedule maintenance activities.
• Supervise production team.
• Perform Manufacturing functions
• Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, supplies, work in process, and finished goods and submit requisitions for needed items.
• Implement cost reduction and productivity improvement measures.
• Coordinate and document training programs including on the job training, safety training, and quality training.
• Ensure ISO quality procedures are followed and standards are met.
• Enforce disciplinary policies consistently and effectively.
• Track and report production levels.
• Perform other duties as requested
• Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained.
  
  

3rd Shift Supervisor - Production Minimum Requirements:

• Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude
• Accredited degree in technical or industrial management field or equivalent experience
• 3 years supervision experience in industrial production environment or equivalent
• Excellent problem solving and leadership skills
• Familiarity with OSHA industrial standards
  
  

3rd Shift Supervisor - Production Desirable Skills:

• Working knowledge of shop equipment.
• Statistical process control and ISO 9001:2015
• Familiarity with ERP Business Software
• Familiarity with rigging and lifting devices
• First aid and CPR qualifications
• Competence in interpreting mechanical drawings and basic electrical and hydraulic schematics
• Lean manufacturing
