Job summary

U.S. Tsubaki Automotive, LLC is seeking a Production Supervisor to direct unionized teams across manufacturing and assembly of timing chain system components. The role emphasizes safety, quality, delivery, and productivity while coordinating daily production schedules and employee development.

The ideal candidate has lean manufacturing knowledge, project management experience, and familiarity with ERP systems, ISO procedures, and EHS standards. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

  • 3 to 7 years of supervisory experience or production leadership.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from employees at all levels.
  • Ability to communicate with all employees and deal with difficult situations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and work instructions.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word required.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, Project Management and ISO procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP Systems.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS standards, Quality Control and Production processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Must be able to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd Shift.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, coordinate, train, coach, and supervise daily production activities to meet safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and labor goals.
  • Provide clear expectations, coaching, and direction to employees.
  • Create and monitor daily efficient flow of material through the department.
  • Determine and implement continuous improvement plans for equipment and department.
  • Monitor department budget and reduce costs related to production and MRO supplies.
  • Foster relationships with EHS, Planning, Engineering, and Quality.
  • Communicate via toolbox meetings and employee meetings.
  • Follow union contracts and company policies.

Job description

The Production Supervisor directs and coordinates union personnel within the various departments involving the various stages of manufacturing and assembly of automotive parts, specifically timing chain system components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential duties and responsibilities of this job are included but not limited to this job description – other tasks may be assigned and be performed.

  • Production Supervisors are responsible for directing, coordinating, training, coaching, and supervising the daily activities of assigned employees that are directly and/or indirectly engaged in the production process of assigned products/departments/processes in a manner that ensures all safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and labor utilization goals are achieved.
  • Provide clear expectations, coaching and direction to employees.
  • Create and monitor daily efficient flow of material through the department by utilization of manpower and equipment in the department.
  • Determine and implement continuous improvement plans for the equipment, and overall department.
  • Monitor yearly budget for the department ensure goals are met by reducing cost related to production and MRO supplies.
  • Foster working relationships with associated departments i.e. EHS, Planning, Engineering and Quality.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication vehicles such as toolbox meetings and employee meetings.
  • Understands, communicates, and follows all company policies, work rules, and Union Contract. Effectively utilizes this knowledge to:
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Correctly maintains time and attendance records.
  • Confers with Group Leader(s) and employees to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Ensure department inventory is accurate.
  • Partner with Human Resources and management when addressing grievance and disciplinary matters to ensure fair and consistent treatment of all employees.
  • Make daily decisions on production schedules and personnel related matters that affect the delivery and quality.

It is the expectation of the company that Supervisors will accomplish these goals by working to a high ethical standard and consistently complies with all company policies, work rules, Union Contractual agreements, and applicable laws with little to no direct supervision.

Requirements:
