The Production Supervisor in Franklin, WI will be a key stakeholder for a new 340,000 square foot conversion facility and will play an integral part of Saputo’s strategy to optimize its cheese network in North America. Saputo has a strong history in Wisconsin and is expanding our footprint in this area.

The Production Supervisor directly supervises production employees to maximize productivity on assigned shifts and areas. This includes planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing, and resolving product and employee concerns. This person carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable laws.

How You Will Make Contributions That Matter...
  1. Work with plant management and other supervisory staff to assign, direct, review, and monitor work of supervised staff to maximize productivity in the plant.
  2. Ensure proper procedures are in place and being followed for production efficiency, quality of product, employee safety, and compliance with guidelines.
  3. Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and direct setup and adjustments to machines.
  4. Coordinate and communicate production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of production run assignments.
  5. Evaluate and anticipate production volume adjustments, daily assignment of duties; establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  6. Using an ERP system such as SAP, complete production data entry, results, and reporting including production results, volume, OEE, downtime.
  7. Complete and review production/packaging records, sanitation lists, schedules, accident reports, and investigations.
  8. Coordinate and conduct employee training (job, safety, etc.) and monitor work performance.
  9. Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  10. Analyze, identify, and communicate root causes and preventive measures using CI methods.
  11. Maintain time and production records as required.
  12. Collaborate with other departments to meet performance objectives.
  13. Supervise employees in scheduling and daily activities, ensuring effective HR practices. Participate in grievances or contract activities if applicable.
  14. Ensure consistent application of policies, support disciplinary actions in partnership with HR.
  15. Promote safety programs to reduce incidents and near-misses.
  16. Train employees on production and equipment standards, enforce policies.
  17. Engage in managerial responsibilities including planning, evaluating, organizing, and delegating.
  18. Adhere to Saputo’s ethics and values.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.
You Are Best Suited for the Role If You Have the Following Experiences, Skills, and Qualifications…
  1. At least three years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing/packaging.
  2. Associate’s degree in Operations Management or equivalent experience.
  3. Problem-solving skills, data collection, and analysis ability.
  4. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
  5. Experience with safety/security policies and procedures.
  6. Proficiency with ERP systems like SAP, and Microsoft Office.
  7. Excellent communication skills.
  8. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail.
  9. Leadership skills, ability to motivate and develop teams.
  10. Understanding of cost management and budgeting.
  11. Flexibility to work weekends and support plant operations.
  12. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with physical requirements.
  13. Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs frequently.

Salary range: $71,805 - $94,245. Salary offers vary based on experience, skills, education, and training.
