Overview

Location: Shine Food, Inc. (Sister company of Jessie Lord Bakery)

Job Summary: The position is responsible for the supervision of production employees in the manufacturing area. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Oversees commencement of Sanitation crew and ensures to assist the proper breakdown of production machinery.

Responsibilities
  • In charge of the shift in terms of management of staff, management of production and quality targets and ensuring the smooth running of the production processes.
  • Trains and supervises production employees on job procedures, safety and GMPs.
  • Responsible for the quality and product that is produced within the shift in line with the companies’ quality systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Accept responsibility for the work performed under your direction.
  • Ensure that assigned work is completed in a timely manner.
  • Actively participates in scheduled safety meetings to review safety performance.
  • Interacts with maintenance on production equipment preventative maintenance to cut down and prevent production downtime.
  • Interacts with outside staffing agencies to ensure proper staffing.
  • Participates in daily meetings to update management on production needs and issues.
  • Review daily production reports at the end of each shift to ensure accuracy.
  • Is responsible for generating schedules based on production needs.
  • Review and monitor all cooking and mixing procedures.
  • Availability to work different shifts.
Food Safety Responsibilities
  • All employees are required to immediately report and assist in the elimination or control of any food safety issues they observe to their supervisor.
  • Monitors and enforces cGMPs within the Sanitation department.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Pre-requisite programs.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, equivalent or higher
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing facility
  • Strong knowledge of food safety systems and best practices.
  • Excellent team building, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Technology: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Physical Requirements
  • Occasionally carry and/or lift 50 Lbs.
  • Must have the ability to routinely and frequently stand, stoop, bend, climb, fill raw material into machine.
  • Must be able to work in a loud environment.
  • Ability to walk through production areas.
  • Exposure to temperature change.
  • Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
  • Wear proper footwear.
