Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Lead - LSP 2nd shift shipping team to drive operational excellence on the factory floor. You will lead a team, enforce safety standards, and coordinate with multiple departments to meet daily production and cost objectives.

You will train staff, monitor metrics, and implement process improvements, while ensuring quality and timely shipping. This role requires strong English communication and on-site work in Phoenix.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and 1–3 years of related factory/manufacturing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence in English
  • Ability to present information clearly in English
  • Ability to use basic hand tools

Responsibilities

  • Lead the LSP 2nd shift shipping team
  • Assist with orientation, training, development, and assignments
  • Provide leadership direction for the assigned team
  • Enforce safety regulations
  • Determine daily department requirements using planning tools and input
  • Provide training to meet department needs
  • Identify daily work tasks using work orders
  • Track and manage daily and weekly cost, schedule, quality, and safety metrics
  • Coordinate with Planning, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality Control, and Human Resources
  • Participate in team engagement and process improvement programs
  • Track daily performance using charts or metric programs
  • Supervise assemblers, machinists, and/or shipping personnel
  • Train employees, plan and direct work, appraise performance, reward and discipline
  • Assist production manager with various tasks
  • Develop systems, processes, and metrics for factory-wide improvement
  • Generate and coordinate measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality
  • Help production personnel solve work-related problems
  • Perform other assigned duties

Job description

  • Lead the LSP 2nd shift shipping team
  • Assist with employee orientation, training, development, and assignments
  • Provide leadership direction for the assigned team
  • Enforce safety regulations
  • Determine daily department requirements using planning tools and production manager input
  • Provide training to meet department needs
  • Identify daily work tasks using work orders
  • Track and manage daily and weekly cost, schedule, quality, and safety metrics

  • Participate in team engagement, 6S, CITI, and process improvement programs
  • Track daily performance using charts, graphs, or other metric programs
  • Perform duties as needed to meet department needs using correct procedures
  • Inspect components for fit and finish and interpret departmental trends for anomalies
  • Inform the Department Manager of issues
  • Conform with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements
  • Assist the Production Manager with various tasks
  • Help create and develop systems, processes, and metrics to drive factory-wide improvement
  • Generate and coordinate measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality
  • Assist production personnel in solving work-related problems
  • Supervise assemblers, machinists, and/or shipping personnel
  • Train employees, plan and direct work, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, address complaints, and resolve problems
  • Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years of related experience in a factory or manufacturing environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence in English
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in English
  • Ability to use basic hand tools
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to problems
  • Ability to apply logic to a wide range of practical problems
  • Ability to deal with non-verbal symbolism, including formulas, scientific equations, graphs, and pictures
  • Ability to deal with a variety of variables
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to work in a moderate to loud noise environment
  • Ability to work near fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and moving mechanical parts
