Job description

Supervises the activities of a manufacturing department in the performance of light industrial assembly or fabrication. Operates from a narrow scope of responsibility to maintain production schedules and ensures quality standards are met. Plans work assignments, and trains employees in assigned department. Assists in the hiring process and administers the organization's policies for assigned department.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

1. Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel to meet established KPI's, such as internal OTD and Production Efficiency, etc.

2. Oversees the accomplishment and completion of assigned production work through subordinate leads.

3. Promote, communicate, and provide assistance to enforce company policies, and procedures.

4. Provides floor presence for employee accessibility and timely problem resolution for production issues; such as equipment failure, component shortage, etc.

5. Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; and evaluates new equipment and techniques.

6. Communicates job expectations and results.

7. Assist Management with employee coaching, counseling, disciplining, and performance evaluation / appraisal.

8. Maintains production staff by assisting in the recruitment, selection, orientation, and training employees.

9. Maintains quality standards by enforcing organizations quality policies and procedures.

10. Provides and maintains production performance data to Management.

11. Provide a clean, safe work environment using 5S philosophies.

Supervisory Responsibilities : Directly supervises production personnel.

  • Promotes company's standards and values.
  • Demonstrates clear leadership skills and promotes development of hourly production employees.
  • Fosters continuous improvement activities and culture.
  • Effectively lead and maintain working relationship with management.

Education : High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience :

  • Minimum of years manufacturing experience.
  • Supervisory experience within a 3 years manufacturing setting is preferred.

Skills :

  • Ability to motivate and inspire personnel.
  • Team and detailed oriented - develops "win-win" strategies.
  • Ability to maintain self-discipline and apply business principles in stressful situations.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • 5S systems.
  • Exposure to ISO 9001 elements
