Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
To ensure employee safety, product quality, and asset performance while delivering on time the shift/line/area production plan. This is accomplished by leading a team of approximately 30 employees. Leadership of people includes participating in the hiring process, employee onboarding, performance management, and corrective action. Proactive cooperation with other groups on site and within NUSA to ensure their area and people are fully aligned with the organization. Modeling the way for others by practicing what is preached to create and maintain a workplace culture that engages and motivates associates at all levels. Focusing on results to deliver success as measured by key performance metrics.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure the timely deployment of People development plan and assure the competencies of the team as per the agreed plan with PM (proper training including equipment, safety procedures, and hygiene). Enforce strict compliance to SOPs by all personnel within the team.
  2. Ensure a safe work environment is maintained at all times. Updated work instructions available for all positions. Processes are run in accordance with SOPs, SSOPs, and other documentation. Activities with environmental impact are communicated and accomplished according to environmental management standards.
  3. Ensure quality objectives are met, including adherence to GMPs, sanitation audits, food safety checks, and product quality checks. Actively participate in prevention and correction of quality-related errors. Check and enforce personnel hygiene & safety, e.g., protective clothing, shoe change, hand wash.
  4. Ongoing coaching of employees to fulfill and exceed job requirements through NCE approach. Daily review of achievement targets, reporting variances during on-the-floor and review meetings. Develop and implement action plans to address root causes and support continuous improvement initiatives. Facilitate seamless handoffs and communicate key information to peers, team members, and Production Management.
  5. Ensure continuous line controls and immediate corrective actions to maintain quality and compliance with manufacturing instructions, regulations, procedures, and policies.
  6. Ensure smooth factory operations through effective employee and industrial relations management.
  7. Ensure an adequate distribution of skills to enable production plan achievement.
  8. Ensure timely launch of new products to the market as per agreement with the business unit/area.
  9. Coordinate with quality, engineering, and administration for maintenance of installations. Review daily maintenance effectiveness, identify improvement opportunities, prioritize, schedule, and ensure completion to maximize efficiency.
  10. Travel requirement = 5%.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Business Management, Food Science, or Organizational Leadership/Supervision) preferred.
  • Work extended days and/or weekends with flexibility to switch shifts as required (shift hours 2 pm - 1 am/4 days).

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years in food manufacturing with production floor experience required.
  • Experience in food processing, packaging, Quality, Supply Chain, and GMPs.
  • Minimum 1 year in Continuous Improvement environment (Lean manufacturing or TPM preferred).

SKILLS:

  • Ability to maintain a safe working environment through proper housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, listening). Ability to adapt communication style, facilitate group coaching, and handle non-compliance effectively.
  • Excellent people skills, positive attitude, motivation, mentoring, and coaching abilities.
  • Confidence, trust-building, and open communication skills.
  • Adaptability to varied tasks, changing priorities, and responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple priorities.

  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office, NT/XP/Vista.
