Job summary

Shaw Stainless & Alloy, an Olympic Steel Company, is seeking a Production Supervisor to direct warehouse operations staff and coordinate with Inside Sales and Production Planning. You will drive scheduling decisions to meet customer delivery dates while minimizing downtime and maintaining quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires leadership experience in a heavy industrial setting, a relevant degree or commensurate experience, and strong communication, organizational, and ERP/Microsoft

Qualifications

• Associate/Bachelor's Degree or commensurate experience.
• 5+ years in heavy industrial supervisory role; steel service-center experience strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor others.
• Experience with CNC Fabrication, Welding and Cutting.
• High energy and drive with stellar communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong administrative support and computer skills (Microsoft Suite, ERP Systems).
• Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels in the company.

Responsibilities

• Direct the efforts of warehouse operations staff to ensure efficiency.
• Minimize downtime and review daily personnel needs; recommend OT and reduced hours as needed.
• Oversee shipments and ensure quality product and on-time delivery.
• Collaborate with Inside Sales and Production Planning to determine machine scheduling.

Job description

The Production Supervisor is responsible for directing the efforts of the warehouse operations staff. An excellent leadership opportunity, he/she will be responsible for ensuring all work is coordinated, minimizing downtime, reviewing the daily personnel needs and recommending OT and reduction in hours as needed. This Production Supervisor will also help oversee shipments, ensuring quality product and on-time delivery. Additionally, the Supervisor will work closely with other Supervisors, as well as the Inside Sales and Production Planning departments to determine machine scheduling based on customer delivery dates, material availability, processing requirements, and logical methods of distribution.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate/Bachelor's Degree in related field and/or commensurate experience
• 5+ years in a heavy industrial setting in a supervisory role; steel service-centerexperiencestronglypreferred
• Proven ability to both lead and mentor others
• Experience with the following: CNC Fabrication, Welding and Cutting
• High energy and drive with stellar communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills

Preferred
