Job summary

APEX RESOURCE TECHNOLOGY INC in Pittsfield, MA is seeking a full-time role responsible for training, productivity, quality and safety in the Clean Room and General Manufacturing areas. You will ensure adherence to procedures and review production paperwork at the end of each shift.

The position requires managing molding/production processes, supervising staff, and coordinating with Quality Control and Production Planner. Strong paperwork and process knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Degree preferred.
• 3 years manufacturing experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of molds and injection molding.
• Computer proficiency in email management, file management, Microsoft Word/Excel and basic troubleshooting.
• Ability to read, follow instructions, good judgment, concentration and simple math.
• Must be able to accurately fill out paperwork.
• Understands quality inspection requirements of each part and makes accurate judgments of acceptable parts.
• Ability to lead team meetings including Daily Visual Management boards.

Responsibilities

• Assures all aspects of the molding and production area and personnel are acceptable to maintain the designated workload.
• Trains and monitors new employees regarding proper attire for the production areas; responsible for proper gowning and un-gowning when entering or leaving the cleanroom.
• Reviews Work Instructions before running any job and ensures operators have reviewed them.
• Communicates with Quality Control, Shift Supervisor and Production Planner about issues regarding jobs, requirements, quality, schedules.
• Oversees packaging and labels for general manufacturing and Clean Room production; maintains label inventory.
• Conducts routine testing and documentation of cleanroom conditions as required.
• Ensures operators have necessary equipment and breaks.
• Conducts performance reviews using input from Senior Process Engineer; administers deficiencies per company policy.
• Communicates new policies and procedures to shift personnel.
• Oversees final paperwork for completed production jobs and reviews shift paperwork (Job Costing Sheets).
• Coordinates all Re-work and Secondary Operations.
• Knowledgeable in First Aid and handling emergencies.
• Other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY

Responsible for training, productivity, quality and safety in the Clean Room & General Manufacturing areas. Ensures that all manufacturing procedures and work instructions are adhered to and reviews production paperwork at the end of each shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Assures all aspects of the molding and production area and personnel are acceptable to maintain the designated work load.
• Has been trained and understands the process flow for general plastic materials and for implantable and absorbable materials.
• Trains and monitors new employees regarding proper attire for the production areas. Responsible for proper training of gowning and un-gowning when entering or leaving the cleanroom.
• Identifies training needs and ensure all shift employees have received the proper training and thoroughly understand all aspects of the process in which they are involved.
• Responsible for all disciplinary actions for clean room personnel and reports to Shift Supervisor.
• Prior to operators running a job, reviews the Work Instructions for recent additions or modifications. Verify that operators have reviewed Work Instructions prior to running any job. This is to be done every time an operator runs a job. Answer any questions that may arise. Understand all quality aspects for each job running.
• Communicates with Quality Control, Shift Supervisor and Production Planner of any issues regarding jobs running, requirements, quality, altered production schedules and other issues, etc.
• Maintains visual specifications by observing production operations and inspecting product before final packaging.
• Responsible for interacting with Quality Control to ensure product is acceptable.
• Oversees all packaging and labels for general manufacturing and Clean Room production and maintains label inventory as jobs are running.
• Conducts routine testing and documentation of cleanroom conditions as required
• Ensures that Press Operators have all necessary equipment and tools for production jobs, maintains adequate inventory levels of those materials.
• Ensures all Operators have scheduled breaks.
• Conducts performance reviews of Product Specialist and Operator using input from Senior Process Engineer.
• Administers Performance deficiencies according to company policies
• Communicates new policies and procedures to shift personnel
• Oversees final paperwork for production jobs that have been completed.
• Reviews shift paperwork (Job Costing Sheets) and enters scrap into IQMS.
• Coordinates all Re-work and Secondary Operations.
• Knowledgeable in First Aid procedures and handling emergency situations.
• Other tasks as directed by Production / Process engineer or Molding/ Project Manager.
• Contacts appropriate personnel during emergency situations.
• Commits to continuous improvement in all job functions
• Other duties as assigned
